Uppy!!! I have no idea if you already have a who''s who thread, but I thought I''d start one to say welcome back. You''ve been missed.

I''d love to know more about the person behind your amazing ring!

Yes please tell us more

Oh my...... I'm seldom found without words, so someone mark this day. I'm surprised to find this thread, though also honored. I'm usually guilty of sharing too much, so figured most of you already knew more than you cared to about me. Okay, I'm babbling.....

I have a lot of seemingly unconnected threads of my life that lead all over the place, so maybe instead of a bio I'll just post some random factoids. If anyone finds one intriguing, ask, and I'll elaborate.

~I have a 15 year old daughter who enjoys socializing and singing, and a 17 year old son with Down syndrome who is entranced with Broadway musicals.
~I graduated HS as a National Merit Scholar but it took me 8 years to earn my bachelors degree.
~I'm a 4th generation teacher.
~Hubby is an engineer, born a farmer, and is now Plant Manager for an automotive parts manufacterer.
~Born in rural Illinois, but have lived in Oklahoma for last 10 years.
~I still have the car I learned to drive in..... a 1969 Firebird convertible.
~We've rescued two dogs, Buck and Roxy.
~I have fibromyalgia.
~Hubby and I have been married over 22 years.
~I had a brother with Muscular Dystrophy.
~I am a practicing Methodist.
~I vote Republican, but hubby considers me a liberal.
~I've recently lost 35 pounds.
~I've had two vacations from Pricescope.

That ought to give you a good start. Oh, and I'm a jewelry junkie!! I need a fix! Almost forgot about that. I do have a couple of great pieces. Feel free to inquire about any of them.

No question is off limits. I'm a truth-teller and will answer anything asked with no bad feelings. Door is open......

What''s your favorite gem stone besides diamonds?

Favorite part about Oklahoma?

Upgradeable, I was really excited to see you back as well!

BTW, I saw my sister''s tranny ring for the first time two weeks ago and I loooooove it. She says she constantly gets compliments on it and is very very glad to have it! I just thought you might want to know that it''s very loved :)

Oooooo.... the first one is a hard one because I love all the pretty colors! I guess I''ll say sapphire since there are so many different colors to choose from. Although I really prefer them native cut than american cut. I love the less precise look of the rectangular, deep faceting! It does have to have good symmetry and minimal windowing though.

Hands down my favorite thing about Oklahoma are the people!! I have never been anywhere and encountered the kindness and graciousness that I''ve found in Oklahoma. I think it must have something to do with the potential of hardship here in the state, whether from displaced ethnic groups, land runners, dust bowl farmers, or tornado survivors. The people here would give you the shirt off their back with no hesitation at all. What an amazing perspective to have!!

I''m so glad she loves it! The cut of the stone was amazing, but I have never seen a prettier mounting than that setting!!!

Hi packy!! You know me too well. At the moment I''m frantically trying to raise funds to mount the 12 carat star sapphire I''ve acquired.

Hee hee!! I''d hang out with you anytime, especially if you bring your bling!!

I''ll start posting pics and descriptions of my pieces for you to see.

This is my ering which I reset in a Beverley K last fall. Stone is 1.4 I SI2 HRD certified. I love the mounting!! It is so comfortable, handcrafted, and looks larger than shrinkage could ever surmount!

This is my five stone oec/transitional cut graduated band. It was made by Wink and modeled after a vintage setting. Total carat weight is 1.67.

I don''t know why that didn''t attach?

My ebay treasure.......

This stone is 1.07 oec and has been estimated as M in color, although it must also have yellow flourescence because it is a beautiful champagne indoors, but a captivating light yellow in the sun. I had Singlestone make a mounting in 22k gold and asked them to give me something handwrought and chunky. When I initially go the pictures, I was really worried! I said it looked like a Flintstone ring. But when it arrived and I put it on, I immediately fell in love with it!

My James Meyer oec three stone. Can you tell I''m obsessed with vintage cuts? The center is .84, the sides are .43 and .41. The proportions are perfect!!! James is an artist of the highest degree! I cannot recommend him high enough!! This ring is much more delicate on the hand than the pictures can represent. And it is so wearable!!! I was initially worried about the height, but it is so comfortable and "ergonomic" on the hand.

Ooooh more more!

More????? Hubby keeps saying "NO MORE!"

I bought this pretty little pin on ebay for a steal! I was especially attracted to it because of the diamonds. There are seven oec cut stones, about 2.5mm each, with visible culets! The piece is just over 1 inch in length.

Another little ebay find. This was a stick pin. It holds .50 carats oec stones. It was dirty and had a giant bale attached to the curved end. I took it to my jeweler and we chose a 16 inch 18k yellow gold rope chain and had that attached to the open ends "so the luck doesn''t run out."

Wow, that''s a good question! I''ve got to say that it depends on the day! I''ll name a few: people who talk on their phone and drive, people who don''t signal, posers, one uppers, people who discriminate, people who park in handicapped parking illegally, lack of courtesy.... that''s the tip of my iceberg.

I''d love another GTG!! Since I''m working at the high school, I''m limited to evenings or weekends. We need to get you back to Crown Jewelers to get that stunning Aqua!!!!

Ooo I like your Flinstone ring! SS has a yg ring similar w/an oval rose cut in it-makes me about fall over every time I look at it. Now yours will too!
