I was able to find my macro loupe, so here are a few more photos of the 1ct elongated cushion cut diamond I recently bought as well as an up-close video (taken under a basic lightbulb in my bathroom - lol). I can't get over the incredible pastels it throws :kiss2:

I love how perfect the iron cross is; it turns off and on so beautifully!

Now on to help... I received my updated CAD a few days ago and my plastic ring mold today. In general I love it. I've asked Amy to tweak the shank a bit - thinning it as it joins the head - but what I'm wavering on is if the French cut side stones should be a smidge larger. They're currently 2mm; she'll be mocking up a CAD with 2.5mm diamonds, but I won't have that until next week. What are your thoughts on the overall balance? I want something elegant but understated but also don't want those side diamonds to be so minuscule they're hardly visible. If it helps, the width of the diamond is 5.5. 2mm frenchies kite-set measure 2.8mm top to bottom, and 2.5mm frenchies measure 3.5mm

I’d like to see the cad with larger sides but I think it will be too large. I like the proportions as they are.

I wonder if you would consider opening up the profile some how with airlines? I don’t personally like a metal wall profile, I prefer a little architectural detail. But that’s a personal preference thing.

I agree about the sizing... I think the 2.5mm will be too large with this 1ct center stone and miss the proportions I'm looking for. I think they would be perfect with a 1.5ct center stone, but then this ring would start to look more like an engagement ring/be larger than what I'm wanting. So I guess it'll either be side stones a little smaller than desired or a center stone a bit larger than desired. I'm leaning towards keeping what I have now and learning to love the small frenchies.

As for the profile, it is so small that there really isn't much room to do an open gallery. What I am going to do though is have the head polished with a brush finish and milgrain applied all over the ridges and seams..
