Thought this was worthy of a new thread so some folks could see pictures of the RB with a strong blue fluorescence. Previous topic saw me worried about how it was looking in the natural sunlight and I think I tricked myself. The diamond does look very white on a indirect cloudy day, but it's not cloudy. When the sun was out yesterday I think I made the double mistake of wearing a bright blue shirt & standing next to my blue car while looking at it. I mean the thing was screaming blue (missed a picture opportunity though). Anyway went out in some more direct sunlight today and I can't even see the blue this time around and the ring sparkles. I'll trying it out tomorrow when the weather calls for completely sunny. But just for fun since I am an engineer and have the tools at work. I should have done it on a white background, maybe tonight, I'm not sure if it's the background that makes it look grainy or if that's standard:

This one I let a little indirect indoor lighting into the room:

Couple more pics for fun.

Holding it up and away from the UV:

With white printer paper behind (which also glows)

 Beautiful, just beautiful!! I also have a strong blue that I bought specifically because I love Fluor! :lickout:

I love fluor! Looks amazing!
What a fun perk that you get to play with your diamond in the fashion at work :-)

Thanks, I finally got outside! It looks beautiful. All my concerns gone, I love it. Sorry for the gross fingers, I work with my hands haha.

Thanks for the photos. I wonder if the medium fluor stone I purchased will give off that much blue.

Any issues with the twinning wisps?

Thanks for the photos! Can one of the experts please comment on the "black specks" that appeared?

Beautiful diamond!! Also, where did you get the setting?

I love SBF!

I got it at Blue Nile it was the petite 14k white gold setting. I've been planning on letting her pick her own setting with more stuff going on, but after seeing it I have a feeling she might want to keep it. I'm going to try and make her at least upgrade to platinum.

I can't see any inclusions at all when putting it as close to my eye as possible. I should also say I put it under a magnifying glass (not 10x) at work for when we work on circuit boards and I still couldn't pick out the inclusions. I think they hid them well with the prongs, if you look at my chart from my other post they were all grouped and pretty hide-able. I'm not a pro so I don't know if it is affecting the fire or brilliance but I can say that it certainly sparkles and is not cloudy. Just judging from the internet guides on BF I think mine is SBF leaning towards Very Strong so I would say a medium would give off a lot less. This one looks like it is blue in sunlight, not just gives off a blue tint.

Which picture are you referring to? If it is the black light ones it may just have been due to the background I was using had a texture to it. I don't see anything with the outside ones, but fair warning I've been handling it a lot and it is by no means clean (been in my pocket more than a few times).

It's a beautiful ring, well done LT.

Hi there - I was looking at pictures "_579" and "standingcropped". I think you're right about the background texture, was just wondering. It is very pretty! I do think you can definitely see the blueish tint in direct sunlight.

She said yes, yay, thanks for the help everyone! Ring was a size too big so she had to wear it on the middle finger until we got home. Looking at other solitaire settings, maybe platinum or something with a few more twists. She loves the blue too and it's had quite a few complements from randoms!
