I opened a thread about the FTHBTC a while ago and I wanted to give an update and get any updates you might have. Here is the original post

We sent out taxes in by mail on March 11 (opted for DD) IRS website said we should have our refund by May 11 But...... on May 10th we got a letter from the IRS requesting our HUD 1 form which we already sent in. so now we need to send in paperwork that they should already have!! Once the IRS gets our HUD 1 form they said give another 4 weeks. ARG!!!!

I did a little research and this exact thing is happening to a lot of people. The IRS is sending more information requests for documents you already sent in to delay your refund by at least another 4 weeks.

We haven''t sent it in yet, but our loan officer told us she''s heard it is happening A LOT. She said if you send in your HUD without some specific form they just throw it away apparently?

We sent in the HUD settlement form-is that what you sent in? Our refund is supposed to be coming May 21. So hopefully we''ll be fine! I want that money!

We sent ours out in mid-March, and the website said we would have our refund by May 20th. It showed up in the account last week.

Yeah, we sent in the HUD settlement form, too, along with form 5405.

What a pain for you!!! I''d be pissed!

We sent in the HUD and form 5405 and it took about a month to get our tax refund. It was a much longer time than we''re used to because we''ve always e-filed before and you can''t e-file if you''re claiming the credit.
