A couple of weeks ago i posted that i found a black inclusion on my new cushion. Well, don''t i feel like a loser! After staring at this very visible mark on the side of my diamond all this time, i finally decided to take a sharp object (a safety pin) and try and remove it. Well - it went away. Some black something must have gotten stuck in between the basket and the diamond while it was being set. I can''t tell you how many times i have cleaned it with a toothbrush since i''ve had it and the mark never budged. I can''t believe i waited this long to try something sharper. I am so relieved and thrilled that my SI1 is now officially eye-clean!!!

Yay! I remember that thread when you were talking about the black inclusion appearing out of nowhere. That worried me. So glad that it was just a piece of dirt or something. Thanks for posting and letting us know about it.

Yes I well remember that, oh thank goodness. Good for you!!! You must be so relieved.

THANK YOU for posting! Even though I know you feel a little sheepish -- please don''t! You may have really helped someone else with this same situation.

rich - that was my guess too!!! not really, but it made me laugh.

At first i was pretty hesitant to post that i made a mistake because it''s not my personality to see something and freak without first examining something throughly, but i thought it could help other people who find something on their diamond. Also, I was so relieved and wanted to share the news.

Lynne B- what does that last post mean???

Oh that is great, good news. There is a downside though, you don''t have a little beauty spot on the diamond anymore

...but sounds to me like some residue from the setting of the stone. Same thing happened to me.
