Unique, interesting, or just plain odd stones...Post them here!

Thank you so much for explaining! I also love a diamond with strong blue fluorescence! I know supposedly it should decrease the value a little bit, but I actually selected my engagement ring diamond specifically to have strong blue fluoro!
Is there something about the I1 clarity that gives it more of a glow with the fluorescence?
Mine is VVS2 and it is really glowy in the sun, but would it have even more of a neon glow if it had more inclusions?

No, it wouldnt glow *more* persay, but it might give it a milky appearance, which is what most folks want to avoid.

I am working on a collet-inspired pendant project with this uniquely colored 2.78ct Fancy Brownish Greenish Yellow pear diamond.
I was at DK’s office today playing with enamel and shades of gold to tone down the brown and enhance the greenish-yellow. The stone will be set in a cup.

The 22K alloy was the winner…

That is going to be stunning!

I think I showed you folks this ring when I got it, 16 or 17 years ago, but you might enjoy seeing it again. It's a small, chipped antique pear in what was originally a cravat pin--someone turned the stem into the band before selling it to me in the Glory Days of Ebay. I think it's Georgian or Victorian. (Old photos; how much younger my hands were back then.)

Thank you for explaining it to me, that completely makes sense. That would be an *otherworldly* and magical looking stone!

Love it in that shade of gold. Is that the color of metal you're going with? What a fun project!

I was trying to figure out what kind of creature was holding the stone. At first, I thought it was a manatee on its
belly. (I'm in Florida).

On closer inspection, I see that it's a talon! Very cool!

Thanks! It was an impulse diamond purchase, my heart said yes before my mind could reason with it. I am using 22K yellow gold cup behind the stone to enhance the yellow/green in the stone and cancel out some of the brown. The collet-inspired pendant in a blacken rhodium finish on a white metal, platinum or white gold, for contrast around the stone.

I want to be able to clip the pendant on to different chains, thinking dog clip or some sort of bale with a clasp.

Concept - going with a more decorative prong.

Same here, Fluorescence is a must have for me.

Today we have a fine mixture of “somebody wants this,” “buy it for science,” and “WTH?!”. All the same vendor; I will share the love for a different vendor next time.

It’s me, I’m the one who wants these . Wonkily cut diamonds are just so much more fascinating to me than a flawless, perfect light return diamond. In my opinion those (for better or for worse) all look the same. NOBODY else can say they have that first diamond.
