Ok I am new to the whole diamond shopping business and I could use some assistance. My boyfriend and I recently went to Rubin Bro. jewelers in Atlanta, many of my mother's discerning coworkers got their rings there. My bf is going to get an Ajaffe setting which includes the two side stones. We were looking for a middle stone of about .75 carats. The jewler said he could make a package deal to get a stone that size (he showed us a .74, don't remember the specs) and it looked good to my uneducated eyes, that would keep the stone and the ring for around three thousand. What i'm looking for is some advice as to whether I should tell my bf to go with a package deal with the jeweler or to buy a diamond seperate... or whether to go in an entirely different direction. I love the setting and wouldn't dream of changing it. I guess now all we need is the perfect diamond. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
ps. I'm not really that picky about technical things... all I want is a round diamond, that sparkles, and doesn't look yellow. And since I never carry around a loupe in my pocket, perfect clarity isn't a must!
