We are in the market for a lighterweight stroller now that C is getting bigger and can sit unassisted. We've been considering one by Maclaren or Chicco, but there are so many options. Like is it worth it to have adjustable recline and adjustable footrest?

Tell me -- do you have an umbrella or lightweight stroller that you love or hate? What kind is it and is it worth it?

FWIW, we already have a Bugaboo that we use lots, but wanted something smaller.

We love our macclaren volo but we didn't start using it until B was 2.

If he was younger, we might have preferred an umbrella stroller that reclined. Other than that, the volo was awesome!

For our "lightweight" stroller, we purchased the cheap umbrella from Babies-R-Us. We also had an expensive stroller (from Chicco) that had a basket underneath, front tray for snacks, recline, etc. - all of which we used quite a bit.

We are in the same boat. Our main stroller is a jogger. We're going on a cruise and to Disneyland later this year and want something more portable. I definitely want one that recline. Pretty sure I'm getting this one-

We have an Uppababy G-Luxe for our umbrella stroller, which I love. It reclines and has a foot rest. If you're baby likes to nap on the go, I think the recline option is great. K isn't really a stroller napper, but it's nice to have the option. The foot rest was a must-have for me.

What I like most about it is how light it is (11 lbs.) and that I can fold it easily even with K in my arms. We've only taken one flight while using it, but it was nice because at the airport I could easily fold it and throw it on my back. Also, it stays upright while folded, so if you don't want to throw it on your back, you can just leave it standing up.

Our full-size stroller is a Bumbleride Indie and we still use that on weekends if we're taking our dog for a long walk or going to the beach. But I keep the G-Luxe in our vehicle at all times because it's perfect for day-to-day outings.

We also considered a couple of different Macleran models, but in the end the G-Luxe had all the things we wanted and I like the colors :)

We have the Peg Perego Pliko Mini and absolutely LOVE it. It is stable, extremely light (5kg), has a HUGE canopy for an umbrella stroller, and a good-sized, accessible basket. It also stands up stably when folded. Highly highly recommend, we really love this one and are using our BJCM a lot less since getting it.

Thanks ladies, this is helpful. I checked out a few at BBB today, and the Maclaren's felt so cheap. They did have a new one, Chicco Liteway Plus, which you can use as the umbrella, or you can put a chicco infant bucket in it, which would be great for #2. (Yikes, we just ditched the bucket for a convertible - already!)

Going to hang around craigslist and see waht comes up since we are cheap and beat our stuff up pretty rough, but appreciate the recommendations on here.

Anyone have a recommendation for a double (umbrella). I love our MAC Quest (and that would be my umbrellla recommendation) but doesn't get high marks for the double. We have the BJCMD but it's not compact or easy enough for what we need.

We tried a standard umbrella stroller and I hated how tippy they are. We had an Uppababy Vista as our main stroller, which we just sold as we don't use it anymore. For our lightweight stroller, we have a Baby Jogger City Mini. I love this thing. Reclines almost flat, huge sunshade, decent basket, not tippy, fold is a breeze.

I'm glad this thread was revived. We ended up buying the one I linked (The First Years Ignite Stroller). Target had a coupon and it ended up being around $50. We've used it a few times and I really like it. It's really light and so easy to get in and out of the car. I also like that it reclines.
