Ultrasonics: Plastic vs. Stainless Steel

After reading several threads, I know that one wants a stainless steel tank for their ultrasonic. But what about the basket? Do you lose the benefits of a s/s tank if you have one that uses a plastic basket? In short, I''m looking at this one...http://www.nationaljewelerssupplies.com/page/NJS/PROD/SK1785

It has a plastic basket in a s/s tank. I want to get a good US for under $100...thanks!

in most machines, the plastic vs SS argument is aesthetics and durability.

Plastic can crack/break, warp, and melt. These problems that plastic has is not going to be an issue if the part in question is the basket of an US machine. Basically, IMO, it comes down to aesthetics.

I have a plastic one from Sharper Image but I am careful with mine. I know some people bought the expensive ones after the plastic ones broke.
