On impulse I bought the Brookstone Ultasonic. I already clean my rings obsessively with the brush and my own or other mixtures and think they really sparkle. But, I MUST say the US really makes a difference with my channel set rings - guess it really can get under the stones - I cannot tell you how much more blue, red and green (oops the emerald one went in by mistake) my bands look and the diamonds sparkle like crazy. It is not just my imagination. I do use a little US cleaner in there - the water alone wasn''t that much of a change. I always thought you really needed an expensive US like the jewelry stores have to make a visible difference, but this is the best $50 I''ve spent in along time!

I have the same one and I love it! Hang on to your receipt though- the lid on mine ended up breaking.

It still works just fine though!

I have one too. But after a ruby came out of a pair of earrings, I dont use it much anymore. Just check your stones when they come out. I think that is true for any ultra sonic.

Dani - do you mean the plastic lid cracked? Mine did too - not sure if I should return it, or if it''s just a design flaw that will happen again - doesn''t seem to affect performance - I think it gets hot or something?!
