OOOOOOOO this could be good! I am going to research this! I wish there were more product details about the "electro chemical" bath that bubbles away dirt. I''m assuming they mean US. SkyMall always has the coolest stuff in their catalogs! If I find any good info. I''ll pass it along. Looks like a great combo! I want both US and steam but don''t want to pay the $$$$ and have to find a place for two separate devices. This could be the answer. Great post.

looks awesome... I think this might be better than the SI ultrasonic cleaner I bought. Did you check online reviews?

Here is the review page on Amazon for the Salton Spa. Looks like some happy customers. Can't wait to hear your review, Luvmyhalo! Hope you get super sparkly results! http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B00023XDNQ/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_helpful?%5Fencoding=UTF8&coliid=&showViewpoints=1&colid=&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

I couldn't find any reviews on the Frontgate with the built in steamer, but they do have their regular ultrasonic on sale for $19.50. Looks like a closeout price and they have already sold out of the pearl colored US. It is only available in silver now. Here's that link.

PS Purfectpear, I think your conclusion is right. The Frontgate and Salton both look to be nonvbrating cleaning systems with the added steam to finish. Might be better for the pieces that cannot go through the Unltrasonic.

Thanks for posting this link, TeacherK - I've been passively waiting (as in, low priority!) to come across a deal on an inexpensive cleaner so I went ahead and bought this one but wouldn't have seen it without your post. I'll report back when I get it :)

Love Street,

I''m so glad to hear that you found that helpful!

I was hoping someone would benefit from that link. I thought it sounded like a great deal. I am kind of in the same boat. I have been looking but was not super anxious to buy right this minute unless a super deal comes along. I have a birthday coming up in a couple weeks and suspect that someone in my family may have bought a cleaner for me, so I''m holding off buying one just in case. If I don''t get a cleaner for my b-day I will probably order this one. I will be so anxious to hear how you like this model. Was the shipping reasonable?

Hi Teacher K,

shipping was only $5, so the entire amount came to $24.50. (I looked for a free shipping coupon online but didn''t find one). But...

I just looked and they have free shipping on this item until 6/13

Oh well.

I''ll report back on iit when I get it!

If it''s nonvibrating, does that mean it will work for pave?

Good question! I''ve been looking for a good cleaner, but I''ve been trying to stay away from the ultrasonics because I have quite a bit of pave on both my e-ring and w-band. But it looks like this one might be a winner, since it doesn''t vibrate?

I have the Salton Jewelry Spa. I love it & use it on my ring which is all pave. No problems so far.

Sweet!
My new setting will be pave, and I''ve been addicted to my ultrasonic, was wondering what I''d do. This is VERY exciting to me!
Thanks for the link!
Can''t wait to hear how it works.

For those that are ordering ....
The tools (tweezer, scoop & strainer) are stored inside the unit on the top, right hand side of the basket. Theres a little door that you have to pop open on top. Some have retuned the unit thinking that the tools were missing, they''re there, they just hide them - lol
I don''t use the strainer that comes with it. I bought a mesh tea ball that closes and has a handle. I put my ring in there to steam it ... I had visions of using the open strainer & my ring flying out of it when I used the steam part. It gives a hardy blast.

My Salton spa was delivered yesterday. I cleaned every piece of jewelry I own, it works great!!!!!
Everything''s sooooo sparkly!

Justme1 - great idea with the tea ball. That steam is a pretty powerful blast!
