Uh oh! McCain was going to rely on his VP to be the brains about the economy. Did anybody remember that?

Lol. Good luck with that now.

Look, I''m not the biggest Sarah Palin fan, but this is silly in my opinion. I guess I''m not sure how it''s supposed to be an insult.

Here is the answer Obama gave to Anderson Cooper when asked how their experience compares.

“My understanding is that Gov. Palin’s town, Wassilla, has I think 50 employees. We’ve got 2500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe 12 million dollars a year – we have a budget of about three times that just for the month,” Obama responded.
Except Sarah is Governor of Alaska, with over 15,000 employees. I''m sure her budget was a lot higher too. She has executive experience. She''s balanced a budget.

Let''s see. The banks won''t lend money despite being nationalized. The Fed slashed interest rates again today to try to blast them into it. Wall Street has crashed. Unemployment is up. Foreclosures are up. But Sarah Palin can balance her checkbook. I mean a budget. So you want her to take over from Henry Paulson in January?

I think it is just questioning his decision-making abilities and his judgement. If he needed someone with a lot of economic background and experience to be his VP it was poor judgement to choose SP. I think that''s all this is trying to get at.

Not to mention that Alaska is flush with oil revenue, to the tune of being able to give $2,300 per person kick backs. If you can''t balance THAT budget, you don''t deserve a job. And she left Wasilla $20M in the hole for a skating rink complex that was not needed... or maybe that was her city manager''s fault, because she couldn''t run Wasilla without help (at additional cost to the tax payers, no less)...

A child could balance a budget with all that oil money. Her approval rating in Alaska in August was 79%, in September it slipped to 68% and now its just over 50%. I call that a crash and burn. More importantly, can we find out where her campaign duds will be donated? That will be an awesome goodwill to hit up. I''m too tall, but those jackets...

How does Obama''s economic experience compare?

And if we''re going to go with judgment, then maybe McCain should make a similiar ad with a big fat Biden "Malarkey!" at the end, since Obama chose him for his Foreign policy experience and he just revealed that he''s forgotten more about it than his colleagues know.

I think the point was that Obama never claimed to be inept in terms of economic aptitude. And I think that the responses of the respective candidates to the current economic crisis are perfect examples of what I mean. Obama responded comfortably. McCain floundered.
