Good Morning!
So some of you know I dont feel like my ring sparkles and Im debating rather or not changing my ring into a 3 stone will help that. Everyone has given me awesome advice so far and I really appreciate it!

I went to see my one of my friends last night at a jewelery store she works at and she told me the reason i feel like my diamond is a hunk of metal is because it is! On my band its supposed to be 2 prongs per diamond and they designed it with 4 prongs per diamond on my band. So you can only see a little bit of the already small diamond. They also said that my diamond sits too low and isnt getting enough light into it. Now its all I see when I look at my rings and it bothers me even more!

So I went to my jeweler that made my custom ring and told them about this. They said they would need to change my setting to fix the prongs and said this would cost about 600 for my engagement ring and band, and then 600 for the 2 side stones. He held up some sidestones and I liked the 1/5 carat and the 1/6 carat next to my moms 1/3 carat center stone. I think the 1/5 ct gives it a little more but Im not sure if im doing to much. Also my moms diamond just wasnt cut the same way as the diamonds are now and thats why it dosent give off the same sparkle. The jeweler said they would match diamonds so you couldnt really tell but what do you guys think. Am I making a mistake? Should I leave the bands the way they are, do I leave it as a solitare and not change it to a 3 stone. If I do a 3 stone should I go with 1/5 ct or 1/6? Will the 3 stone every look right since they wont all sparkle the same? Im sorry I have so many questions. Im just really nervous about what to do!

Thank you in advance for all your help.

The photo is really small so I can''t really see the cutting of your center stone. Have you considered a halo?

I agree, your best bet is to halo.

I think inorder to get the look you want halo, or using your mom''s stone as a sidestone is the best bet (I know you siad earlier you wanted it to be in the center, but I don''t think in a three stone that will give you the presence and sparkle you want.)

Aternately, I''d put your mom''s stone in a bezel pendant so it is always close to your heart and get a new ring that sparkles as much as you want.

If you post a close-up of the stone we can try to help you determine the cut.

Here is a closer shot of my ring, sorry they are from my phone. I did consider a halo at first, but my husband dosent like them at all. And I want him to like whatever it is I get. Before I ever got engaged I always wanted a 3 stone. I just dont know if what Im planning is gonna look right. My center stone is round. If you dont think the 3 stone is a good idea please explain why so I can have a better understanding. Thank you!

Also, I cant switch my moms stone from the center, maybe when Im older but not now. It would hurt my dad and husbands feelings and it means alot to me as well. I just couldnt even allow myself to say those words to them. I have to make the best of what I have :)
