U prong or French V Pave for Halo?

I'm curious...what is your preference and why? Is it strictly aesthetic or is one (in your personal opinion) better? Does U prong setting show less metal? What is most popular? This is literally a lesson for me, so if there is already an existing link, I apologize...

I prefer U prong, and I think it is generally a style point. The V pave to me looks more "vintage". Still very aesthetically pleasing, but it is a styling of the metal where the U prong represents more of the diamond holder to me if that makes any sense.

Thank you... I have been scouring the Internet for comparisons, and the U cut seems to be more popular... I'm hoping one of the experts will chime in?
