For those of you that have the "U" prong eternity. Do you find that because of the design (being curved on the inside) that you needed to go down in size a bit? I am looking at one on ID Jewelry and trying to decide on size. Any suggestions or opinions would be welcome. :wavey:

Good question. I think I read on a thread (no idea when/what/who) but a PSer suggested getting a 1/2 size smaller because of the U prong 'open-ness'. Hopefully others with experience can give you actual real life info.

This is a good question. I was looking at a few eternity band designs today and the U-prong was one of them. I never thought about needing to order it in a smaller size!

oh! mrs S ---- NIIIIIIICE!!!! Very nice low setting - good choice! Quite like that :appl: :appl:

My vote would be yes, from personal experience.

I had ordered a u-prong eternity in size 5 from BGD (I have two other size 5 rings that fit very well), and when it arrived it was very large (I don't know exactly how much too big, maybe 1/2 a size?). I sent in my size 5 ring to them and they showed me that both rings slid down to the same point on the sizing mandrel, so they were technically the same size. But it definitely didn't fit me. Unfortunately it wasn't a stock ring, and to have it remade smaller would have cost me $1000, so I was relatively lucky that they gave me a partial refund, but I still lost about $1000 on it as a restocking fee. Wish someone had posted this topic several months ago!

Yes, probably about .25 smaller.

My u-prong eternity is size 5 1/4, it fits just right on my size 5 3/4 RH finger and a bit loose on my size 5 1/2 LH finger.

That's interesting. I wonder why?? If the inside diameter is the same, why does it fit bigger?
