I am considering one of these 3/4 Uprong eternity bands. To me both are from reputable suppliers. Have purchased from BGD before and have been well pleased but I am thinking about trying WF as their ring sports 10 pointer ACA diamonds of seemingly equal spec to the 5 pointers in the BGD band and the price of the WF represents far greater value. Would like to stick with BGD of course but are PS'ers able to shed any light on why I should - ie is there any significant difference in quality?

1. BGD offering: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/wedding-and-anniversary-bands/eternity-bands/3/3/3/4-eternity-u-prong-platinum-5398p

2. WF offering: http://www.whiteflash.com/wedding-bands/annettes-u-prong-3-4-eternity-diamond-wedding-ring-1771.htm

I should say that the service WF has given me so far has been outstanding. Want to pull the trigger soon...

In my opinion, no difference in quality per se, especially in terms of diamond quality - but there is an obvious difference in setting design to my eyes in that the BGD version has the classic curvy "U" shape and the WF's version shows more of a squared-off-bottom to the "U" shape. My guess is that the BGD version has less metal and perhaps a bit more dainty, while the WF version has a bit more metal and perhaps a bit more durable. Top-side I do not think you would notice a difference between the two (excepting as to melee size) - any visible difference would be in the profile and perhaps in the feel of the fit.

If choosing between the two specific rings you've linked to, well, I prefer the large melee size and am also a huge WF fan so would buy from them. That said, if you've purchased from BGD in the past and been happy, and if you prefer the curvy U shape, I'd go with BGD and utilize the Customer Loyalty Discount

I think both are equally sturdy. More metal doesn't equal better or even stronger.

I much prefer the BGD version in terms of settings. It will sit closer to your finger and if you are wearing it next to anything the lower profile will work better next to another ring.

I've purchased from BGD multiple times and been thrilled each time. So I don't think there is a bad choice. It's just down to which you prefer personally.

If it were me I would call BGD and ask them if they can get closer to the WF price on ring with 10 pointers for you. See if they will. Doesn't hurt to ask.

But if they can't, then I can see why you'd want to go with the larger diamonds. I would too.

My WF 10 PT uprong sits nice and low next to anything I wear. I love it!

Like you said, you get a lot more diamond with the WF ring, as you get 10 pointers compared to BGD's 5 pointers. So to me I would go with the WF in a heart beat.

Thanks for the replies. Although I have not seen either in real life, the BGD setting does look more dainty but that could be simply a function of the fact they are using smaller diamonds?

IT's a really hard decision...

You may want to check with ERD as well. They made my u-prong and the price was amazing. My stones are 25 points each and I did end up resetting it (still with ERD) because with stones that big the u-prong wasn't as low as I wanted. I ended up going with a very low basket setting. Both settings were incredible though and great value too.
