Hypothetically speaking, and according to DF's calculations I would be looking at over 2K for the gold I want to sell. And I would want to get a nice piece in it's place.

White metal and diamonds. Either a band for my RH or a bracelet. Here are some ideas I've got.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-ring-platinum_12816 Something similar to this band, but for around 3K instead of 6K. Half Eternity and super bling tastic. H&A melee

Bling Addicts Tourmaline ring, only made into an all diamond band, in platinum is also a big front runner.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-eternity-ring_10070 Reasonable in price and pretty.

Or something similar to this piece by Adwar: http://www.adwar.com/products/styles/X1173/view
perhaps with though a little closer to this http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/0/7/2/5/9/2/webimg/129856741_o.jpg or this: http://gregghelfer.com/data/_v/products/large/front/01315/18k_White_Gold_Bezel_Set_2_85_ct_Round_Diamond_Bracelet.jpg

What would you pick. And please feel free to suggest. Piece doesn't have to be new. Can be preowned.

I LOVE the last choice!!

It''s very blingy and substantial looking.

do you have a diamond bracelet, gypsy?

in my mind's eye, i see you as a diamond bracelet kinda girl..

:)

ETA i've always liked this. they're 6pt diamonds, as opposed to 4/3/2pt diamonds in the adwar bracelet. very pretty...

How funny, I just sold some unworn jewellery of my own for about the same value! I was eyeing off a 3 prong tennis bracelet, ID jewellery has a 3ctw for under 2k. I love the ring idea, though! That Gala ring from BN is divine!!

I personally like that garland half eternity from Blue Nile. They make a 3/4 ct. version for $2100.- It would be nicer if it were a full carat.

I love this concept. Little droplets of diamonds scattered all over your wrist! Plus, it would coordinate beautifully with your pendant!

http://gregghelfer.com/product/14382/14k_White_Gold_3_05_ct_Round_Diamond_Bracelet is similar to my earrings. I really do want both a RHR and a bracelet. But I agree with you Whitby... I am a bracelet kinda girl. And no, I don''t have one with diamonds yet. I really like the single row one from Blue Nile, but at the same time... I''d want 3 carats in a single row bracelet. I''m a pain in the neck that way.

Oh, I love this bracelet! It reminds me of the Tiffany Lace bracelet! This gets my vote

I couldn''t open the 2nd of the three bracelets. So far I like the 2nd ring & Whitby''s bracelet pick the best. Though after today''s Leon frenchie eternity band I''m kinda all eyes for THAT. Have you seen it?!!

Another idea: what about the single row shared prong bangle that was so popular a couple of years back?

Does a Diamonds by the Yard set appeal to you? You could do a DBTY necklace and bracelet at BGD in budget.

I was just going to suggest the same thing. Not sure if the idea of a bangle appeals to you, but I know those bangles are beautiful and sparkle like crazy. I''ve only seen the Whiteflash ones so far on PS, but I''m pretty sure there should be some pictures coming up verrrry soon (possibly this weekend if the mail moves quick enough!) .... of a brand new BGD shared prong bangle!

I know they make them in several different sizes of diamonds, depending on your budget. Great way to get the most visual bling for your money in a bracelet (kind of like a half-eternity ring for your wrist with bigger diamonds that show on top rather than a full eternity with smaller diamonds all around).

Otherwise if you don''t want a bangle, I would go with one of the bracelets you posted above. Those are beautiful.

I adore those bangles. And I wanted one for a loooooooong while, but then I went to the store one day to play and tried on a few different bracelets to see what looked best on me, and surprisingly enough the non-bangles looked better. BUT I am going on a shopping excursion with a few ladies with great taste this weekend, so I will have to try some stuff on and see what I think. I adore hte bangles because I could get a higher carat weight one, and since it IS ''half eternity'' I could really get visual impact for the buck.

I like the DBY a lot, but it''s not on my list. And the bracelet doesn''t have enough bling for me. Last time I was out I fell in love with a bezeled round 6 carat total weight bracelet (uh huh). So I kinda was thinking that if I got a bracelet like the one whitby suggested, I could see if any of our vendors offered ''upgrades'' for the bracelets, so I could get one know... and have it grow as the years go by
11.gif
. Wink has some bracelets on Wink Jones that have great prices so I''m going to give him a call too to see what he''s got.

I really do adore the garland bands from BN though too. I wish they had a 1.25 or 1.5 weight in the half eternity. I''d be all over that.

Okay, want a *really* weird reference point? Normally I'm not a bracelet person ... but earlier this week I saw a wide multi-strand bracelet/watch combo that I thought was so cool. It was on Brian Williams' daughter in "College: The Musical (Episode 4)".
3.gif
Can you tell I have WAY too much time on my hands.
32.gif
Anyway, it kind of reminds me of your multi-strand choice -- at least impact wise. I suspect hers is simply a necklace wrapped around a few times. Would you wear it with a watch like she does? Or alone on the other hand?

ETA: I also noticed a lot of those college gals seem to be wearing multiple key pendants on a long chain. Trend?

My bangle is a one-year anniversary present and I really couldn''t decide what I wanted - the choice was a 2ctw tennis bracelet or a 1.5ctw shared prong bangle (they were roughly the same price - the tennis bracelet was a little more, but both in the range of $2000). Every single bangle I tried on in the store I didn''t like - they were round, they would spin, and I just VERY much preferred the look and feel of a regular bracelet on me. The issue was each diamond in the bangle would be *twice* the size of the ones in the tennis bracelet and I really wanted something on my wrist with the most impact for the money. I was torn, so I left it up to DH (after all, it was an anniversary present and he loves surprising me!). He decided that he would rather get me a bigger tennis bracelet for a future gift (maybe 5 year/10 year anniversary) and get the bangle now so I could wear it every day and it would still be substantial. Lesley assured him over and over again that I will be very happy with the bangle and it won''t spin because it''s oval, and based on what so many others have said about Brian and Lesley, I trust her. When DH decides to give it to me, I''ll let you know how it is

.

If you do really like the garland bands but BN doesn''t have the carat weight you want, would you consider contacting BGD or WF to see if they could create one for you? I looked at the picture and it really is a beautiful ring. I''m sure they would do a wonderful job making something very similar, but to your specifications.

I love the BN gala eternity ring - but my favourite of the ones posted is the Gregg Helfer 3 strand bracelet - it is amazing!

I could have the garland ring remade. Honestly I think it would be lovely to have it made for me. But I keep coming back to a bracelet.

Deco, I''d wear it on my other hand, the one without the watch. I like that pic you posted. I think it''s a necklace too. I''m going to have to try on EVERYTHING one Saturday
27.gif
. Clearly.

Lilac, congrats on the anniversary! I can''t wait to see your bracelet! I had a faux bangle that was oval in shape and similar to the shared prong bangles. I loved it. And wore it a lot. I love the look of them. Plus the extra bling is a bing bonus. Hmmm.

Doesn''t look like there is a right answer. Wish I could get BOTH.
11.gif

3ctw you say? Hmmmmmm. I mean, you *were* considering a jump to 3K, no?
3.gif
Oh heck ... why stop there I was pondering selling my car to get Erica''s Leon Asscher!
38.gif

Do you ever watch Real Housewives of OC? Gretchen''s makeup artist RonAnn had a pretty all bezels single row bracelet that was gorge. No idea how many cts or $$$$ but wondered if you''d spied that one!

Okay. You are known in my house as the "Cheif Enabler of the Universe" ... that listing made my jaw drop. It''s perfect in design. Do ya think they''ll do 1/2 off? Even a 1/3 off would be doable. But 4K is out of reach. 3.65 carat weight and stunning. Not H&A and not upgradable but really lovely... lovely enough to give it a try and return it if it doesn''t work out. IF I could afford it. And I can''t. The cats cost me over 4K last month. I''m wiped out of discretionary funds for the most part. I have a bonus coming next month and whatever I get for the gold I trade in. But most of the bonus (okay... so all of it, if I''m being good) needs to go to savings.

Wonder if there is a way to get that setting from Stuller or Adwar or somewhere like that. Stick H-I melee in there. Still out of my price range. *Sigh*

I know what you mean about Erica''s asscher... we just bought two new cars. Erica''s ring is more expensive than mine... but if we gave BOTH of them up... I''d have that AND enough for the bracelet. And the garland ring.

Ahh bling. My life would be easier if public transportation was better around here. I don''t watch the OC, but someone told me about their jewelry a while back and I''ve been meaning to check it out. Nice find on the bracelet. I''m off to scour websites and see what I can find in stock settings. You never know. If I find a nice stock setting and drop the color on the melee... I can eek out some size. Maybe.

Seriously though... I betcha they could easily get and set that adwar bracelet...

Gypsy, If you are considering diamond bracelets, have you looked at what BN has to offer? Their 3 carat traditional tennis bracelet is $2950, but there are always 10% off coupons, so it would only be $2650. I received their 5 carat version for a push present and it is lovely. The quality is great. We also asked BGD for a quote, but BN was almost a $1000 less after the 10% and the price difference for H&A in such small melee wasn''t worth it. The bracelet is beautiful, the diamonds are gorgeous when looped and I have gotten lots of compliments. They also have several other types of diamond bracelets that are reasonably priced. THe thing I love about BN is the free shipping and returns, so it''s easy to check something out.

You know what could be cool? A BANGLE with a top part made from alternating large/small bezels! That way you'd have the size bling you want ... plus the bezel-look ... but with a solid metal bangle back to save $$ (and be less damage prone, stone-wise). I don't know if I've ever seen a BEZEL bangle?! Could BGD do it?

LOL on the "Chief Enabler of the Universe". Does that come with dental & a pension? Fingers crossed!

Stupid attachment.

Ooh, cool bangle! I think Brian and Lesley could make a gorgeous bangle like that. Definitely an interesting idea.

DH surprised me with the bangle last night! I *love* it! Camera is broken right now (and battery is dead unfortunately) but I hope to be able to take and post pictures either tonight or this weekend in SMTR. I really love this bangle because the diamonds are face up 99% of the time (it doesn''t seem to spin on me much, and certainly not enough to bother me) and the diamonds have a great impact because of the size - and even better, it''s VERY comfortable which is a big deal to me because I always thought bangles would irritate the heck out of me. Solid line of sparkles across my wrist.

I''m sure a bangle like the one geckodani posted could somehow be created if you like that style more - and it''s a different look than a typical shared prong bangle. Very pretty.

http://www.solomonbrothers.com/jewelry_92696 Hmm. I''ll call BGD, probably after I narrow down what I want a little better. That Adwar bangle is interesting. The bezels are too thick, but the concept. Hmm... can''t wait till Saturday to get some bling on my wrist.

Lots of fun.

this totally cracked me up....

I think I'm going to drive my friends nuts on Saturday looking for bracelets. LOL. That's what I think. I know one of the stores where we are gong has a set that is close to my earrings, I don't know if it has a bracelet but it might. I do like that one... If the bezels are thin. I love bezels but they have to be wellmade. And they are labor intensive... so it might just make sense to get a higher carat weight of better diamonds now, and re-set the bracelet in bezels later.

I'm not going to bug a vendor yet, I don't know what I want well enough and they are busy. Once I have a better idea of style and point size I'll give Wink and Lesley and GOG a call, most likely. See what each of them have to offer. Maybe ERD too, as he gets some great deals sometimes.
