I have been interested in two diamonds on the web.

The first is 2.42 carats and measures 8.73x8.79 mm.

The second is 2.27 carats and measures 8.45x8.53 mm.

I''ve seen several of the actual diamond size charts in different threads, but I''m curious if people think I will be able to see a significant size difference that the .26-.34mm is going to make if I go with the larger one.

Second question is that the GIA cert for one of the diamond says "surface graining is not shown". It is rated an SI1. Any reason for concern with that comment?

Thanks for your perspective.

Personally at that size, I don''t think you''d really see the difference once the diamonds are set. But others might disagree.

Usually on GIA certificates anything that isn''t plotted and is just in the notes isn''t a big deal. They''d have to plot it if it was a defining characteristic.
