Well, for someone working in NYC, his 2 months salary is definitely going to be at least twice as much as someone working in the midwest.
So, what sense is following this rule? Even if you argue real estate cost 3-5x more in NYC than in the Midwest (more than salary advantage) but that doesn't dismiss the fact some *poor* girl in the midwest getting a small 0.5ct vs. a 1.5ct in NYC.
