Recently I grabbed this ring second hand. The tourmaline was a vivid gorgeous pink, but the setting was so, so sad.

But for the color and the price who was happy to wear her in her current condition.
I measured the stone and set my mind to pic up a setting *just on the random off chance * I found a setting in the course of my shopping that might fit. I had no opinion on what I was looking for, just let the universe find me a setting.
Not too long after I stumbled on just the ticket. I would have been happy with any style so long as it was flattering. (As some of you know) I’ll take any wild sh!t. However the setting I found was classic and timeless. And… in England. I asked for the dimensions and it sounded like it would fit. So even though I couldn’t return it if it was a bust I pulled the trigger. The setting is platinum and diamonds with a very flat lab ruby.

I sent them both to DK. He was concerned the very chonky tourmaline would not fit in the setting that help the flattest of flat ruby, but I said just try and if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work. They also had to size it from a 4.5 to a 7.5. Not always an easy task- but being mostly plain band- I knew they could make it work.
Luckily the team over there is amazing as always and they did exactly what I asked. The ring took the best part of two half-great rings and turned it into the most fantastic quintessential emerald cut three stone. I love her so.
I’ll share the gina DK pics so as to not leave you hanging, but the photos don’t accurately reflect the color, and they enhance the incisions a little more than my pride would like lol. I will of course get you my own version out in the Midwest sun as soon as it’s here (hopefully Thursday)

YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Oh yum!!!! I love pink and that is a glorious tone of pink. Great remodel!!!!

Gorgeous new dress for your pretty Pink Tourmaline, yay!

(Have to say, I do like the bones of the old yellow gold setting)
I’ve been known to love an ugly duckling but I just couldn’t find anything to love about the old setting.

Gorgeous, thanks for sharing!

That pink looks absolutely delicious! :kiss2: You have an incredible eye for gemstone ring finds and this may be one of my favorites. I can’t wait to see your hand pics.

Gorgeous remake!

Wow! So beautiful!

Holy cr@p!! Smoking hot! That pink and divine setting; classy and whimsical. Love it!!

the new ring is totally wonderful

but i also liked the first version of the Tourmaline

That’s a stunner, what a transformation from the old setting to this amazing neon deco creation. I love that pink!

:love:Damned ninja, 'tis true.

I'm practically drooling over here...absolutely stunning!! That pink :kiss2: Looks perfect in its new home!

Thanks everybody! I know I have dozens of rings but I love them all. It’s funny the og stone in that setting was lab created so perfectly clear and this is obviously included but yet looks so much richer. Nice reminder imperfections add to the unique nature of a colored stone.

Somehow it looks crisper and brighter in the sleek platinum setting. I think exposing the sides benefits the Tourmaline. This is a really happy elegant ring. Well done!

Girl don't worry about little inclusions- that baby is gloriously vivid pink. (& I love these kind of successful quests! ) My pink tourmaline is even more included but flaming pink in the sun too. Like the inclusions help the color.
Can't wait to see your pictures!!:)

Those two were a match made in heaven. How neat that you found them. The finished piece is absolutely beautiful!

Wow! It looks amazing. What a delicious color stone and that setting is perfect to showcase her in! Enjoy!!

A million times better! The pink and platinum go so beautifully and it looks made for your stack. Congratulations!

The tourmaline in her new setting is instantly more elegant. I admire your vision and taste.

Beautiful color. what an elegant ring!

Stunning, my preference is always for pink stones in white metals, I think it really makes it pop.

I love tourmalines! What a beautiful color. DK can do anything!

The combination of the setting with the cut and color of the tourmaline is amazing!
