I am looking at two diamonds, and I was wondering what everyone thought of them. I would really appreciate your input. Are these too shallow for a ring?

yap, too shallow, probably will have obstruction issue.

What do you mean by obstruction? I am new to all this and I am trying to learn as much as possible?
Thanks so much

#1 chipping risk b/c of shallow crown and thin girdle, and the fact that it's a smaller stone (girdle thickness measured as percentage of diametre)
#2 super shallow pav as SC says is going to make the stone look dark up close (when you lean over it, it will look dark, because many facets are reflecting what is directly in front of them - the poorly lit front of *you*; in differently proportioned stones those facets would reflect the brightness around you, above your head, etc.

Just to confirm: you mean degrees and not percentage (as posted) for pavilion and crown angle.

Yes. Sorry. They are degrees. Thanks for all your responses.

Would the first stone perform well? Is the only issue with the stone the girdle thickness? How well cut is it otherwise?
Thanks,

Does anyone have an opinion on the first stone above? I know the girdle is thin, but would it perform well otherwise?

Same problem for both.
