Hi everyone!

Finally got my CADs from BGD and I just want your opinon.

This is the stone that will be set. http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/F-VS1-Very-Good-Cut-Radiant-Diamond-1510064.asp
It's a F VS1 Radiant 0.8 ct. Havn't seen it in person yet but the people at BGD said it was a beautiful stone :D
Here's the ASET:

So, the photos below was our inspiration.

This is what I wrote to BGD:
- Douple claw prongs. I'm think of words like tiny, delicate, pointy and dainty.
- The twisted setting, please pay attention that the pictures only is for inspiration
- Tapered towards the diamond with melee diamonds on the side. Approx. 3/4 eternity.
- Comfort fit and if possible I would like to have the whole band to ber more roundish than square, as few straight edges as possible. Don't really know how to explain. It's important the setting is neat, like really thin and dainty.

I feel like Jamie at Brian Gavin really understood what I meant. I was a litte worried since this is a ring made up in my mind but I think it turned out really well.

Here it is! Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for improvment.

DOUBLE claw prongs on a stone that size and with that style are not gonna be good. SO-- single claw prongs is what I'd suggest. If you want to emphasize the octagonal shape with your prongs I suggest SMALL tab prongs done right instead.

Otherwise I think your stone is GORGEOUS and the setting is what you ordered.

Thanks Gypsy for your input! I'm glad you liked the stone I choosed.

I have to think about the prongs. I liked the double claw so much in this picture.

I really understand that so much. I have a 1 carat asscher and when I was reseting I looked at 100s of prong pictures. And on a one carat stone 5.87x5.86 the number of times I saw it done right I could count on one hand. So even though I went with someone who was EXCELLENT at prong work, I went with single claws myself and I am really happy I did. I can't tell you how many times I've seen bad double prongs.

I would ask whoever you are working with at BGD to talk to Brian about the prongs-- with that picture-- and have them ask him IF with the design you are doing, they can execute prongs that look JUST LIKE THAT. If the answer is yes, okay. But if the answer is no... move on and don't force it.

I think having two little claw prongs in the corners would look good with the radiant, since the diamond doesn't have pointy corners. I sort of think the claw prongs will sit there nicely. Is there a reason why the CAD does not reflect the stone shape and with the prongs you asked for or did you ask for that after the first CAD?

Are you just wanting the band twisted or the stone as well? There was a neat one on ArtCarved Bridal called Stella.

I understand. I'll check with Brian first thing tomorrow. It's sleepy time here. Big bulky prongs is my biggest nightmare so now I really have to sleep on it. Thanks again for your wise words. :)

I actually have no idea why the CAD doesn't show the right shape and claws. But they were fully aware of that the whole time. Hmm :/

Just wanted the head to be twisted but thank you for your suggestion :)

Awesome looking =) How long did it take for you to get the CAD's? I'm now at the stage were the should start designing mine and can't wait 8)

Claw prongs like you have in that image are really only done right by a couple vendors. I like BGDs prong work but they do not make prongs like you like in the asscher image.
