after finding the perfect shade of fall champagne, i now am looking to match that to ties and vests for the GMs. not so easy. after looking at ALL of the tux shops in town i've found 2 champagne options. problem is that they don't have a matching vest. URGH!! so we can do either the ch. tie with a black vest or a white vest, or have just the standard, classic black tie & vest.

the shop with the closest matches allowed us to take them home. FI tried them on and i took pics to share with all of you hoping for some feedback. here are the options.

1-classic black tie and vest
2-black vest with champagne satin tie
3-black vest with champagne striped tie
4-white vest with champagne striped tie
5-white satin for FI
6-white striped tie for FI (if we go with the striped champagne tie for GMs?)

that''s all the options, that i photo''d at least.

My favorite for your FI would be the white satin/white vest. For the groomsmen, champagne satin/black vest. For some reason, I feel black/black or white/white should be reserved for the groom (or the father of the bride) leaving color for the groomsmen. Of course, there's nothing wrong with the groom having a little color. ;D

I''m sure this pic will show up super tiny, but hopefully it will give you an idea of the color scheme I used for our wedding in September of 2003. I started with my dress, which had champagne embroidery, then my BM''s picked out champagne dresses to match. Next we had to find the tuxes, which were called "champagne" but were really more silvery than champagne-y. On top of that I had to have the two jr. BM''s dresses made, and then find flower girl dresses as well. Hopefully you can tell from the photo at least that although the colors did not exactly match, they did end up blending together quite well for pics. I guess you could say I was one of those brides who didn''t sweat the small stuff, because I wasn''t disappointed at all with the way everything turned out color-wise.

I do like the picture of the black tux, black vest, and champagne tie the best, out of the pics you posted, for what it''s worth!

I vote for #2 for the groomsmen and #5 for the groom.
To me, it''s the simplest and most classic look, but they all look nice.

Hi JCrow-

I definitely like #2 for the GM, and I like #6 for your FI....Even though #6''s tie is striped, I think it looks nicer than the standard white tie, and it is a subtle difference...
