Hi! I just found out that I have a tiny chip in one my melees (15pt) on my wedding band and I think it's due to my ering and wedding band rubbing against each other. =( I've been meaning to get a spacer band for a while but I didn't really like the "look." Well, lesson learned. I started looking into cheap, thin, spacer bands that I could use until I figure out how I want to reset my rings and came across 2mm tungsten carbide bands on ebay. It seems like tungsten carbide is really durable, scratch resistant and they can keep a permanently polished look. Price wise, you can get them on ebay for $12-$13. However, I'm wondering, will my platinum and/or white gold rings be "safe"? I searched the forum and read that silver actually will eat away at gold rings which is why I started researching different metals. Could I use a tungsten carbide band as a spacer band between my ering and wedding band? (Current wedding set is 18k white gold but would like to do platinum in the future)

Thank you everyone for your help!

tungsten is a very hard metal and in my experience they do tend to dull and darken with time.

thoughts or input would greatly be appreciated!
