Gday, We live in country NSW, Australia and have been searching for an engagement ring setting (have our own 5.5mm round stone). The jewellers here are extremely limited and charge an absolute fortune to get something especially made. I came across the following setting on the net and its perfect! The link is http://www.sunjewelry.com/er3219.html . After a google search it appears there is some concern about the quality of this company''s work. Does anyone have any advice? Or know where you can get a similar setting from a more reputable company? Thanks for all your help!!

hi there

I can't help you with the company/ quality etc, but I did want to say you have an interesting and unusual ring design there...
btw, I'm from WA!

Hi there,
this reminded me of Simon G stuff, however S.G will be alot nicer http://www.simongjewelry.com/indexi2.html
Not sure what your price range is, he can also be pricey.
Seeing as you are open to buying online, I will recommend looking through Pearlman site - they have tons of designers and imo the best range on the net - also lovely people to deal with!

I agree with you - like Lara I live in WA, and the prices of jewelery are just exorbirtant! Hence me shopping online/from the US - I actually had a proper argument with a jeweler in Perth the other day as he thought I was either lying about what I''m paying for my diamond, or getting ripped off! *sheesh*

Hey there fellow Aussie! You should expect to pay around the $1000 mark for a well made solitaire setting here WG or YG, plat would be extra.

Can you take a trip to Melbourne? Go to Precious metals - Gary Holloway will set it for you.

Also, are you aware that the stone will not be insured if you don''t have it set where you purchased the diamond? No insurance company here will insure a unset stone, so it would be wise to try and get it set at the same place you purchased it.

Good luck

My ering is from Sunjewelry, and I''m very happy with it. The ring appears to be well-made, no stones were loose, and it arrived on time. No shady extra charges or anything like that.

I''m no jewelry guru though, so take my words with a grain of salt. What looks great to me may only be mediocre to an expert.

Happy shopping!

I can''t help but did want to say that''s a beautiful design and love the two tone gold and detailing. Have you looked at any of the vendor''s sites here? Good luck!
