Hello! I'm new to the website but I've been "lurking" for the past couple of weeks and I see so much great information on here that I thought someone could help!

So here it goes...!!! I just got engaged a few weeks ago and we picked out a Coast Diamond ring with a 0.70ct center and a pave diamond halo(i think that's what's its called) all around and pave diamonds on the side. It's a beautiful ring

and super comfortable. My only concern is that we had to get the milgrain re-done around the ring because it was worn down on one edge around the halo. How this happened..not sure since I had had the ring for only a week and been super careful. So now I want to exchange the ring for the same style but start fresh..does anyone find that there are certain "issues" with handcrafted rings..slight imperfections..the ring around the pave halo also doesn't look perfectly round. So i'm looking at a couple different rings as well. Below are three pictures..one for the coast ring I have and the others I like are the Ritani Halo (in white gold!) and a Simon G style. With our budget these are the rings that are within reach (budget's about $7k). What's everyones opinion..which would you choose and why? I love my coast ring with its antique detailing but I'm afraid that the milgrain will disappear..the ritani ring I love as well but I'm not sure about the quality of their diamonds (center is included for this white gold version)..any feedback would be really helpful!!!

and the third one..the Simon G...which I haven''t tried on yet...any opinions on this designer..I haven''t heard much about him. I''m more familiar with Ritani.

i know you haven''t received any responses yet, so i''ll be the first.

i vote for the ritani!! =)

Thanks for your response yellowcrayon! Would you mind telling me what you like about it vs the other ones? Just trying to get some thoughts together! Thanks!!!

I personally like a halo with with a bezel-set stone in the center over a prong-set stone. It''s a cleaner look. But you need a good jeweler to set a nice bezel. From what you say about needing your milgrain redone it sounds like there is a quality problem. It shouldn''t wear in a week!

it''s partly because i''m biased...my e-ring is ritani in white gold. i just really like the clean look of ritani plus it makes a great set with the matching endless love band! =) it''ll actually sit flush with any band (or it''s supposed to). the craftmanship of ritani is excellent. and the pave diamonds are set in tight.

oh, and the diamonds ritani uses are of good quality. mine are very white! =)

hope this helps...

Thanks for your opinions! Do you think there would be any concern with the micro pave diamonds in the ritani falling out or being damaged since they go pretty all around the band? Also what about comfort since the band is not smooth....any feedback base on personal experience?

from what i know, there really isn''t a problem with the diamonds falling out. you can also do a search on ritani...and pretty much all the threads will point to the excellence ritani''s rings are done with in durability and not just design. plus, i was speaking with bill pearlman (pearlman''s jewelers) about what happens if diamonds do fall out...he said that as long as you haven''t been purposefully banging up your ring...they''ll replace the diamonds for you.

the only thing with comfortability for me isn''t so much the smoothness, but the height (upward width) of the ring. i''m used to wearing rings that aren''t as thick...but besides that i''ve found it to be comfortable. =)

I also have the Ritani halo, although I provided my own center stone...so I cannot comment on the quality of the stones they use for the center. Otherwise, the pave stones are all full cut, F-G color, I believe. Very white as yellowcrayon said.

Also, I''ve had this setting for ~3 years now, and it is very well made. Not a single lost stone to-date, and I''m not overly careful with it either (and I use the SI ultrasonic to clean it regularly too). It is extremely comfortable and because of the bezel, nothing catches on my hair, clothes, my kids!!! If you run your finger across the pave, it has that slightly textured / bumpy feel, but no sharp edges or anything that would even get caught on a soft sweater.

HTH, if you have any other questions, ask away!

Definitely the Ritani! I like bezel-set center diamonds over prong-set ones, and it seems like a smoother design. I don''t have any personal experience with Ritani, so I can''t comment on that.

Where do you suggest finding the best deal on Ritani white gold endless love rings? I didn''t see the white gold version anywhere online. So far the only place that I see carries it is Robins Bros stores. Any other store in the Los Angeles area carry it that you know? What''s a good price? Robins is charging about $7k for the 18K white gold halo ring with a .75ct center (G-H color) and S1I-or better quality. They don''t have a certificate for it since it comes set from Ritani..but they said they could send out for me to get certified anywhere I wanted before I bought it.

pearlmans is a pricescope vendor who carries Ritani. call them for a quote in whitegold. they have some of the best pricing on designer settings around. they also have a pricematch where if you can find the setting for less they will match and give you an added 10% off.
