School goes into active shooter lock down.
100's of cops descend on the school from all directions sirens screaming.

Well that was certainly a test of emergency and active shooter response by local law enforcement. Much better than a planned drill I guess.

This happened at a school near where we used to live. The suspect was on campus for band practice, he worked with the color guard, they twirl flags and wooden "rifles" which they carry in these long bags.

That's exactly what I was thinking. But our Fearless Outrageous Orange Leader wants teachers to be armed. I was shocked when he proposed that, it was like the punchline to a joke. I can't begin to imagine the tragedies that will occur if that comes to pass.
