If you had to send your ring between different states who would you trust? Fed Ex? UPS? Also, would you put the value on it and insure it through them in addition to your personal insurance?

I know this is done all the time but I have the worst luck with these kinds of things :)

Most shipping companies won't allow a consumer to send/insure jewelry. Make sure to ask about it first. The exception is USPS, which has a limit of $5,000 for the faster service and I believe $25,000 for the slower services. I haven't heard that other services will let consumers ship jewelry...but I'm not positive.

USPS is how I ship, slow but safe. Do a search, there have been many threads on this.

Thanks. I did a search and it looks like USPS is the way most people go. Thanks for the input. If jewelers trust it then I guess I should too :)

USPS Registered Mail if the item is worth over $5000.
