I come asking for jeweler recommendations for two reasons:
1. My engagement ring came from GOG and the platinum setting is by Unique Settings of New York - should be high quality ring. For whatever reason, my shank bent pretty severely in the first couple weeks of having it. I can still wear it, but it's very oval. I can't bring myself to put it in the mail to ship away to GOG to look over. I just can't trust a shipping company enough! Insurance doesn't cover sentimentality. I was hoping someone could recommend a jeweler to look it over and determine if there's a problem with the materials or if it was just bad luck. If just bad luck, I would like the jeweler to reshape it back to round, without disturbing the pave diamonds and their little prongs.
2. I am also looking for a jeweler to help me with a custom piece. My mother died in November, and my wedding is in May. I want someone to design a necklace that I could wear to the wedding, using her engagement ring stone (~.25 round), anniversary ring stone (~.75 marquise), and another family gift ring's stone (marquise-shaped emerald, about 7mm long by 3mm wide). I think I want the stones to be aligned in a straight line downwards, starting with the small round, then emerald, then larger marquise.
Thank you for any help!
