Trump speech was Hitlerian?

"Chris Matthews" ... Say no more!

I don't get the problem some people have with a country's leader putting his/her country's people and needs first. He didn't say "we will not support our allies", or "other countries will bow down & submit to us." It's called priorities. We can't help anyone else if we aren't strong enough to stand on our own.

I have had it with the left reading something into everything that someone says who is not is agreement with them or have the same priorities as they do. The term "dog whistle" is so effing irritating. Because someone does not acknowledge what is "their" main focus obviously means that the person speaking is against it or has some hidden meaning. FFS stop it.

Actually, Trump's speech echoed Charles Lindbergh and his America First Committee more than it did Hitler.

Yes it did. And it appealed to my more Libertarian side. I have to read more on the AFC.

excerpt from speech:

We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world -- but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first.
We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example for everyone to follow.
