I don't know, but if you read carefully, it's a non-denial denial.

It's so hard to trust anything coming from the WH anymore, as just recently evidenced by the Comey debacle.
 
A spin we will surely see is that the president has the power to declassify anything, which is true. Doesn't mean he should, and it doesn't appear he has much control over himself and what he reveals.

Didn't anyone jump on Trump and shut his mouth before he said anything?! This is when White House's low credibility really hurts them; their denials aren't being given much credence.

ETA: Aren't meetings with foreign diplomats in the White House recorded? This would be confirmation of either the White House denial or Washington Post article.

"The New York Times" has joined "The Washington Post" in publishing the story. It is excerpted below.

"President Trump boasted about highly classified intelligence in a meeting with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador last week, providing details that could expose the source of the information and the manner in which it was collected, a current and a former American government official said Monday.

The intelligence disclosed by Mr. Trump in a meeting with Sergey V. Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, and Sergey I. Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the United States, was about an Islamic State plot, according to the officials. A foreign ally that closely guards its own secrets provided the information, which was considered so sensitive that American officials did not share it widely within the United States government or pass it on to other allies.

Mr. Trump’s disclosure does not appear to have been illegal — the president has the power to declassify almost anything. But sharing the information without the express permission of the ally who provided it represented a major breach of espionage etiquette, and could jeopardize a crucial intelligence-sharing relationship."
 
The problem is he has no idea what the hell he is doing. Trumps receives talking points along with what to say and what not to say for these meetings. He doesn't keep to the script and says whatever he feel like saying. The man is flipping incompetent.

He has the beginnings of dementia. Don't know how that's hard to see, it's very obvious.
He simply forgot he wasn't supposed to tell. He forgets lots of things because he has dementia. If you see old videos of him, he's perfectly lucid. Now he can only find his words some of the time and his lack of normal restraint are symptoms.

This has been pointed out by George Will, the Morning Joe guys, and more and more government officials are daring to say it. Dementia.

As someone coming from a health background, I really think it is important that the president get a full medical check up including full psychological assessment. Pilots get them, astronauts get them. Why not the President of the United States? The potus has the capability of doing much more harm than a pilot if they are not psychologically OK. One plane crashing versus someone pressing the red button : (

If you will remember, Dr. Oz did a full physical on Mr. Trump.

That's enough for the general public. Dr. Oz knows everything about medicine. As a matter of fact, Dr. Oz knows everything, full stop.

He sounds like that teacher all the kids would make fun of for their trite sayings. Right? We all had teachers or professors who were known for their idiotic sayings, didn't we? That's what he reminds me of. A leader who has no business leading anything.

This is so upsetting to me.. where are we going? our allies will soon despise us, we are aligning ourselves with a despot, crazy person.. It's starting to feel tragic for a once great country. I wish the congress would get him to shut up, kick him out and put Pence in, which I NEVER thought I would say in my life, that's how bizarre Trump has made me. :(

The very first thing my mind went to were the people who put their lives at risk for that information. He doesn't value them at all. There is a very strong possibility that he put those people at an even greater risk when he blabbed that information to the Russians.

His actions are unforgivable.
 
I'm really enjoying the crickets from our conservative members who have spent the last 2 years screaming about classified information being emailed over unsecure servers. The glorious hypocrisy.

Trump will not be impeached. And I'm emotionally preparing for him to be re-elected. I have no faith in our country.
 
I'm was hoping Red would give her opinions on this. Her son is in the military.

It's shocking to me that so many of his supporters are still drinking the Trump Koolaid. Can you imagine the outcry if Hillary had done this.
