Trump reveals highly classified info to Russians in mtg.

"I get great intel every day."

He sounds like that teacher all the kids would make fun of for their trite sayings. Right? We all had teachers or professors who were known for their idiotic sayings, didn't we? That's what he reminds me of. A leader who has no business leading anything.

The first time I heard about it, without even knowing the details, I said, "Remember how Marla Maples played him? She said, "Great sex ever", which prompted him to divorce Ivana, a costly thing, and marry Marla. Probably, the Russian officials said something like, "Oh, you're so great and knowledgeable, Mr. President", and Trump responded, "You bet! Let me show you how knowledgeable I am..." and then he gave them classified information"

It was just a joke. Two hours later, I read about the details. Apparently, Trump said it in the context of boasting about US intel...

(Facepalm).

I'd trust a 5 year old over this admin.

The NYT column partgypsy linked was written by David Brooks, the NTY conservative columnist, who pegged #45's psychological age at 8. Yes, it was their conservative columnist who said the current government is headed by a child. I usually don't read his stuff because I'm not a conservative, but this caught my attention and is worth a read. I think he got it exactly right.

As someone coming from a health background, I really think it is important that the president get a full medical check up including full psychological assessment. Pilots get them, astronauts get them. Why not the President of the United States? The potus has the capability of doing much more harm than a pilot if they are not psychologically OK. One plane crashing versus someone pressing the red button : (

I can not make any assumptions. But my interest in history prompted me to "diagnose" many outstanding leaders of the past (and some of them, like Churchill, had a well-known diagnosis of manic-depressive disorder). Interestingly, presence or absence of mental illness is not the predictor of one's performance as the leader. In fact, the most brilliant people, the reformers, would probably score highly on the manic-depressive axis, and also have mild autistic traits. (In USA, Lincoln had such a combination, it seems).

However, there probably are people who are unfit to rule. They may not necessarily be mentally ill, just not able to think critically, or make correct decisions under stress, or unable to sustain friendship (and that would politically transform into inability to build a team). In short, "lack of leadership skills" is a common thing, luckily, most people know it about themselves and do not yearn power. Some, unfortunately, do.
