TrueBlood: Season 3

Ooooh I gotcha....Yea, I agree 100%. Though I have to say, with exception of the really awkward kissing in the Erik/Talbot scene last night the guy/guy scenes have been super hot! I wish they'd have picked a more attractive actress to play Crystal. She's kind of icky...maybe it's the white trash/meth thing that's turning me off though...

Agreed on the Eric/Talbot scene! I don't mind the guy/guy action at all but the kissing was just not believable. I kind of love how he killed Talbot, though. The bottom line is I want to see Eric Northman naked as much as possible and I don't care if it's with a guy or a girl! :naughty:

I also think Crystal is super trashy and not hot enough for Jason. I don't have a thing for Jason but I love him and think he deserves hotter! :cheeky:

Last night's episode was the least horrible of this season.

The best acting all season, IMO, happened when Sam was kicking his mom out of the house. It was the first believable scene, and I actually believed his emotions. (I understand that we are talking about vamps, wares, and shifters, lol... but as far as believable for this messed up show goes!) ;))

Sookie is slowly being moved to my "dislike" list. Her acting at least, used to hold my attention. That super fake transaction between herself and Tara in the yard was at most laughable.

Love TB, but maybe I wouldn't like it as much if I hadn't read the books (?). I've only made it to book 9, but love how crazy everything gets as the plot goes along. Of course, the series HAS to trump the books through -- as Eric's in the flesh.

I do think it is a bit difficult to follow all of the individual story lines - I guess since you can't be inside Sookie's head (and her thoughts are a big portion of the books), it has forced other characters into having their own stories, in order to have enough material to fill a show. I mean, in the novels Lafayette is dead by the second book and none of this business with Sam is even broached. Many of the book characters are very minor, but are made significant in the series (Lafayette, Sam, Jessica, Franklin, even Maryann is a bit less important).

Am very much hoping that Series 3 includes the main plot line from the fourth book -- oh my goodness, that's the best!

I think the hardest thing for people to understand is that in the TV series, only a couple of months has passed between season 1 and season 3. It seems like it should be 3 years or so and Sookie should be done with Bill when in TV reality, she's only been in love with him for several months, not years or even one year. It's too compressed IMO. I just wish that these series had 20 episodes instead of 12. You can't build and conclude things in 12 episodes and then have a yearlong gap, it's irritating.

Agree on all points, except that I didn't like AP as Sookie from day one.

I liked AP and Sookie in Season 1, but now, not so much.

I was really hoping for some scenes with her and Alcide last episode though. So close!

And wow, was NOT expecting the Eric and Talbot scene. I do love it when he staked Talbot. Talk about revenge best served cold...

And ugh, I was so hoping Sookie would be done with Bill. There was definitely an added component to how and why Bill drove Sookie away in the books, and without that, it's so easy for the writers to bring Sookie and Bill back together (sorry for being cryptic - don't want to ruin the books if anyone is reading them now).

Sorry for geeking out here, but did anyone else notice that Pam's full name is Pamela Swynford de Beaufort in last night's episode? I'm a big English history buff and the House of Beaufort, which produced Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, through Henry VII's mother Margaret Beaufort, was descended from John of Gaunt and Katherine Swynford. Ok, nerd moment totally over. :)

No i did not notice that B.E.G. I would like to see more of Pams character on the show though! It would be good to see her history and how Eric came to make her his progeny.

I like that Sookie is a fairy! Suits her. :))

Can anyone tell me if Arlenes baby really could be Rene's? I mean in my mind he has been dead 2 years but i do recall someone saying that in the books it has only been a few weeks/months? I thought with all that possessed stuff that was going on last series that it could have been anyones in the town. :cheeky:

Hands down... Best.Show.of.the.Season.

Loved every minute, except for the car ride between Sookie and Bill. Lame.

ETA: What the heck is going on with Lafayette???

I can't believe you liked it, meresal! I didn't like it AT ALL. I think I was expecting more and was let down.

The stuff with Jesus and Lafayette is stupid, the drunk Sam thing was stupid, etc. I'm kind of cranky about it, actually. I wanted something to actually HAPPEN and nothing did. Sigh.

Thing, I was so glad not to see someone naked, explode, or get eaten (or all 3 for that matter!!)... I just loved that there was actual story this week. lol.

Ohh ya, I forgot about the Sam thing... and that disgusting hookup at the end with Tara. HAHAHAHA. Toitally blocked that from my mind.

Now that I think about, maybe I just really liked the ending and blocked out the rest of the episode.

ETA: We had to stop quite a few times, due to a very very fussy baby, so my mind was definitely not all there.

Ha yeah that was NOT hot! And I certainly don't mind the nudity or sex scenes! :cheeky:

I guess I'm starting to get annoyed at all the different story lines and nothing happening. And since it's almost the end of the season I want stuff to happen! I did like the ending, though-that was definitely the best part!

And plus I got annoyed that the finale isn't for 2 more weeks. I don't care if it's Labor Day! Grrr...I need to go to bed-I am CRANKY! Apparently your little guy isn't the only fussy baby!

Seriously, there are WAY too many storylines going on. It's getting really annoying - I feel like I'm watching a soap and nothing happens.

And can we say eww to the Tara hookup? Why is she still alive?

The ending was wow, though.

I officially now think this is a dumb show. I'm even dumber for watching it.

Whoever said soap opera, is right.

This show is seriously going nowhere.

PS, I went back and watched the episode again, as a whole, and I was completely wrong in my original post. It was still horrible.

Agreed, that it has turned into a Soap Opera. I can't believe we are almost thru 3 seasons and it has only been like 5 months. (If that? Right?)

I can't believe the season finale is here.

Were any of you surprised at all the poeople that have been killed off on the show? I feel like all the people I WANT to die, won't.

I love the show. It's funny to me. I hate Sookie though, which presents a problem. Love Eric to death, hate Bill. I read all the books, so I will continue watching.

I love this show too, didn't read any of the books though. I will continue to watch it. I think they'll get a fifth season and then it'll be done.

Characters as I see them.

Sookie is an idiot.
Tara is annoying.
Bill could have been a good character if they had casted it differently.
Eric :naughty: perfect.
Pam perfect. She needs more face time.
Jessica way better without Hoyt.
Russel killed off too quickly, he was crazy enough to love.
Hoyt more of an idiot than Sookie but less annoying than Tara.
Arlene, annoying but I am interested where her story goes.
Terry, waiting for him to snap. Hopefully he kills Tara.
Jason's story with Crystal, snooze fest!
Jason, eye candy and comic relief.
Lafayette, fierce.
Jesus and Lafayette, not so fierce.
Andy, bleh, if he dies I wouldn't care, don't care if he's alive either.
Tommy, Interested to see what kind of mischief he'll cause in the secondary character story lines.

I probably forgot a lot of characters, but those are the ones I remember most and have opinions on.

I agree with most of that - not the Tommy part though. He annoys me. And Sam was never my favorite character in the books, and less so in the show.

Lafayette's storyline is getting weird (of course, the writers have complete free rein to do whatever they want with his storyline, so I guess it makes sense). Jesus is creepy. Never liked the Crystal storyline in the books, like it less now. Wish Tara would die.

Oh and I am SUPER disappointed at how LITTLE Alcide was utilized this season. Especially since Bill is SUCH a dud.

I must be the only one who likes Tara. I want to see her back to the way she was in Season 1, all attitude. She's broken is all.

I loved and adored Talbot, and every time I see the Talbot Jar I laugh. Love Russell too, he's *Fantastic!*. I wonder if he will be permanently put to rest, or not. I wish not.

Love Lafayette, never liked Jesus. Why on earth is Alan Ball introducing voodoo? Isn't there enough going on with the vamps, weres, witches and #$%! fairies? Enough is enough, seriously. Even for the already wacky premise of the show.

Also love Jessica. I like that Tommy is a brat, and hope he sees some redemption at some point. Sam is boring and it's ridiculous to have made him a killer. Sam was the only safe, sane one in the books. Dependable and nice.

I wish Eric and Sookie would get together. I need to see more Eric. He's the best character IMO. More Pam too!

Ditto all this, minus the Tara part! I don't love her anymore although she was awesome in Season 1. Tommy is just okay in my book...that storyline is already old to me.

But DOUBLE DITTO to the bolded. Eric is so sexy. It's UNREAL. Seriously, I find it unfair that we'll never be together. Someday I'll get over it...and I love Pam, too!

Agree, even though he's kind of cross eyed? Hehehe. Heresy, I know. But he's been so BROODY this season. Where's the fun?

Here's my list of characters.

Sookie is boring.
Tara is pathetic and boring.
Bill is horrifically boring.
Eric has gotten boring.
Pam is going to be boring if she keeps crying like she has.
Jessica with Hoyt is boring.
Russell is not boring, but that means he's as good as dead.
Hoyt makes Jessica boring.
Arlene is only marginally less pathetic and boring than Tara.
Terry is perfect for boring ole Arlene.
Jason is often so dumb, he's boring.
Lafayette is on the same getting boring train that Eric bought a ticket on.
Jesus - GAH! Boring!
Sam - trying too hard not to be...boring.

Today's advice column:

Sookie: You know you have supernatural powers. Start kicking a$$ already!!
Jessica: See above advice to Sookie.
Tara: Blackmail Andy for a nice chunk of change, get out of town and get yourself a real life.
Jason: See above advice to Tara.
Hoyt: See above advice to Tara and Jason
Andy: Take an early retirement.
Pam: Get a grip - Eric isn't a relationship, he's exercise.
Lafayette: You don't need any advice.
Bill: Southern gentlemen don't use the 'f' word.
Sam: If you keep shifting into a dog, you'll eventually pick up fleas. Next time, shift into a Velociraptor.
Tommy: See above advice to Sam.
Eric: I'd like you to meet my good friend Lestat de Lioncourt...
Lestat: I'd like you to meet my good friend Eric Northman...

Anybody: Can you direct me to Lou Pine's bar?

Ooooooooooooo just thought of Lestat and Eric interacting. lol

I agree with everything that has been said. I hata Tara, she is so whiney. Urg. Pam is fantastic! I really like Jessice. Of course Eric is the best..... but you guys are right, I'm getting so bored!

Was it me, or was that the worst finale ever? Nothing happened! Jeez. What a letdown.

BEG, I saw this thread when I logged in once for vacation but didn't open it as I didn't want to read any spoilers. Obviously from the lack of response, PSers were not thrilled with the finale. I agree...lamest finale ever. Just a lame season overall and as I said before, I'm lame too for investing time in it.
