Eesh. I finished reading all of the books this weekend, and holy cow are they different. I am 100% team Eric.

I read something on the internet about how Alan Ball said that season two was 1/2 and 1/2 the book and whatever he wanted to make up.

Lets just say if Bill''s disappearance follows the books at all, it should be an interesting season. I am hoping that it goes back to following the books a bit more....

I want to say so much more, but I don''t want to spoil anything!
Awwwww man! I''ve only read the first book, so I guess I need to catch up on the books during the break so I''ll know to what you are referring...

I think Erik is the obvious culprit in the kidnapping, which is why I question it. Think about it. It could be Queen Sophie, Bill''s ex, the church freaks, or someone all together new.

I think Kanye West is the culprit, lol...

I agree that Eric is too obvious...who knows, it could be a vamp group who does not believe in loving humans, it could be Bill's maker, it could be someone who is pissed that he turned Jessica, or even something Bill has set up to test Sookie / Sookie's gift, Sookie's sister...all kinds of posibilities!!

Tara's character will be interesting to watch. I definitely think she will take a turn for the worse...I hope if this does happen, she becomes an active villian / bad girl rather than a depressed and moany character... Revenge would be a theme worth exploring for her...at her mother for her alcoholism / abandonment, Sookie for showing Eggs what really happened, Sam and Bill for killing M.A. and destroying the euphoric state she was in, Taylor Swift for winning a VMA over Beyonce...

I am not a fan of REW (actually am completely neutral)...but she is so stunning as the queen that I enjoy her scenes.

110% team Eric...need more partially nude scenes!!! (don't care who they are with either)

Overall, I was glad that the MA storyline was over, but I am not biting my nails over what will happen next (simply bc I am not a fan of Sam,Tara or Bill). In fact, I would have rather seen more Godfrey!

Since I have not read any of the books...that is on the agenda to pass the time between seasons (along with watching Gossip Girl, Grey's, Fringe, Lost and renting all of the seasons of Buffy, lol). I kind of like that the show is not following them...it is like a parallel universe!!!

Ditto!!! If this is the case, then season 3 would be the VERY BEST yet!!!

Does anyone know where/how I can watch Season 2 if I don''t have HBO? I tried OnDemand, but mine won''t let me access it at all

(not even for a price). I loooooved Season 1 and am now desperate to watch 2 and 3!

I think it was probably a fake. Maybe some of the resident actors can give some input here. Do shows often use real pieces as props?

End of the season review:
This season was far better than last. I liked all of the characters they introduced though they went overboard with Maryann and Rachael Evan Wood (Queen Sophie) can''t act worth a damn. She was just horrible in that role. I''m glad Sam isn''t dead, and I''m glad Eggs is.

I''m interested to see how the whole Sookie/Erik thing is going to play out. I don''t think Erik had a hand in Bill''s kidnapping, though I think he''ll work the situation to further his agenda with Sookie in the next season.

I loved Erik''s line about the kids being like teacup humans. so funny.
I thought it was so sad that Bill disappeared without ever hearing Sookie say yes to his proposal. I am 99% sure Sookie''s ring was a CZ. Still, I really like that setting on her.

I''m also pretty sure Erik had a hand in Bill''s kidnapping, just from the way the scene with the Queen played out.

Thank goodness the Maryann storyline is over... it was dragged out way longer than it should have been, and seemed like an excuse to plaster naked, copulating people all over the screen.

As I thought about it I am thinking that it could be Eric, but it could have also been that woman, what was her name? The woman that was his lover before that wanted him back. She could have kidnapped him and is holding him hostage. Then again, it would make more sense to kidnap Sookie and make Bill come to her. Oh, I don''t know. It makes my brain hurt to speculate on all the possibilities. The only thing we can be certain of is the the actual person who did it was a human because they used the silver chain around his neck.

I would like to see more a triangle between Eric, Bill and Sookie. I liked it when Sookie dreamed of Eric and night.

I feel your pain........ but I added HBO to my service and finished Season two yesterday

I Lurve Erik and am rather annoyed with Bill/Sookie right now. Lafayette is my favorite character by far and I hope he survives in season three. I have only read the first book but found I like the visuals better in the series. Plus, Is Tara even in the books at all?

Kitty--If you order HBO for a month (or whatever), you should be able to access the OnDemand''s, and then you can cancel it at your convenience. What is it? Like $20 a month? I was thinking about it if our OnDemand stopped working. I had to try reloading the finale about 10 times.

akmiss--Tara''s first appearance is in book 2. She isn''t such a major player the way she is in the show so far, but she does continue in the books past season 2. She is somewhat different in the books though...

Before I subscribed to HBO (because I couldn''t wait the extra 2-4 hours for the new episodes to show up online), I always used Sidereel. http://www.sidereel.com/True_Blood

I found it had the best links to flash sites/megavideo rather than the sketchy sites that make you download something or register.

Thanks freke, I need to pick up the 2ND book soon. I am having TB withdrawals..... When does season 3 start?

I just finished the 2nd season and I''m in TB WITHDRAWAL here! Plus I''ve already read all the books...twice. Sob.

Freke- I thought her character and Eggs, other than the Maenad, were the most opposite from the story line that was created for the show.

She''s definitely a stronger character in the show...but to me, that "stronger" means she''s also way more annoying.

I thought it was interesting how much they changed the personality of the Queen in the show too - though the scene with Eric being roped into playing Yahtzee was pretty funny
3.gif

Wikipedia says that Season 3 will loosely follow Club Dead...so does that mean we''ll see Alcide?? Hope so!

I loved the books and I''m really enjoying watching the series. I couldn''t agree more, way, way too much Tara. I groan every time she is on screen. Her whole character and story just seems so tacked on, I wonder what is the point of it.

Lol! Yay for this thread being revived...kinda.

Tara...much prefer her in the books. Even though she's kind of a PITA there too. And I agree meresal, on the TV show she's far from who she was in the books. They added a whole lot of stuff to her storyline, and 99% of it wasn't good. I am not a fan of Maryanne either or her storyline, and I'm glad she's gone.

I'm also going through TB withdrawal. And like BEG, I've read the books twice (some more than that) as well as the short stories...

I think the culprit is Bill''s Maker. I can''t wait for season 3!!

I just bought the 8-book series from Amazon.com. Maybe I should go out to my trunk and bust open the box. But if I start, I will miss out on this beautiful sunny fall San Diego day. What to do, what to do?

Duh. Go get the books and read outside.

Haha ditto!

I think it''s Lorena too - esp after the way Bill sent her off in Dallas (and if they''re truer to the books this season than in season 2). But who knows? I mean, they changed up Lafayette''s fate, etc. and added characters so anything could happen.

I started the first book yesterday. The only thing I really miss in the beginning of the series is Tara. I loved the part in the show when Tara is present during Bill''s first visit to meet Gran and Gran asks him if her family owned slaves and Tara gets huffy and says "That''s f''ed up". I love Tara.

I''m only at the point where Sookie is about to discover Dawn''s body. I am going to have to read a lot to catch up. By that time, hopefully, Season 3 will be upon us.

I haven''t seen the series yet, but I am reading through the books now. I read one a night and finished up to 7. I don''t know if I can get myself to read book 8. I liked from about 1-4, but it''s been really meh for the last few. It''s starting to be the same old, same old.

Hopefully the series is better.

TGal, the series is really great. I really liked the second season, since they veered away from the books a bit so I was kept guessing as to what would happen.

If this is what Alcide looks like, then I can't WAIT to see who they cast as his ex. I'll bet she's a knock-out compared to Sookie!

This show needs a good "B" to mix things up

ETA: TGal- I read 1 thru 4 on my honeymoon, and haven't been able to finish 5 since. It's been 4 months. It got a bit "slow" for me as well.

Definitely Team Alcide!

Now that I think about it, I bet they remove this story line.

Who knows... after reading the books, I never would have expected what they did with Eggs and Tara''s characters, so they could do anything. I think this is why I became uninterested in finishing the books. I prefer to read the books after seeing the seasons, rather than before.
There is absolutely no basis between the show and the book, and I hated seeing that some of my favorite parts from the books were "artistically removed" in the show scripting.

He is so cute. I love the show and can''t wait for it to start anyway and now he is going to be in it.

I have not read the books, really don''t think I would like them after seeing the show and hearing what you guy say. What kind of character is he and why is he relevant?

Eric is cute in a disgusting sort of way, but his new fellow. mmmmm I hope they don''t ugly him up so that he fits in with the rest of the cast. If you think about it none of the characters on the show are knock you down good looking.
