Anybody else having trouble listing new items, or is it just me?

That site is so buggy! It seems to go on the fritz regularly. I wish we had a better place to list.

It is really too bad because it used to be totally reliable and I have "frequented" DB for over 5 years.

The owner of the site posted that the server they were using got overloaded with all the photos and they were switching over, but that was back when it first happened and it's been messing up ever since.

Yea me too. I had to post my listing on eBay

Me too, I tried to reply to some messages on DB last night, but it was acting up and seems that it still is. :((

That site wasn't meant for this kind of traffic. It was fine for the past 6+ years I've used it. It's funny how people love to complain about free services.

I am not complaining about the service per se, more wondering about other options. Seems like there are not many except ebay.

ETA: And I love how people love to complain about people complaining too much

What can I say, I like to bitch about things that seem obvious to me.

If you just want a place to list things, craigslist is always an option.

I haven't been able to get on DB at all tonight.

*ahhh*

That's my credit card, breathing a sigh of relief!

Well, even when that site IS working, I still hate it. I just don't know the ins and outs.

If people just want to target PSers and pricescope lurkers, use craigslist for the basic listing (with no photos) and put the photos, description here in preloved and say that the subject line has to have "Pricescope" in it otherwise you will bypass the response.

That's a good ideas TGal. I personally only want to sell to PSers anyways.

I have no clue how Craigslist works either lol!!

I think that's a great idea. :appl:

Dreamer, craigslist is a piece of cake, especially if you don't want to mess with pics. You don't even need one in your town...just find a city to use and list. Use an address you don't mind getting spam and keep on the lookout for the right subject heading. I thought about doing that with my non GIA items, but figured I wouldn't mind selling to non PSers for those smaller items.

Still, going forward, this is what I am going to do. Too bad I have nothing much left to sell.

btw, you obviously want to put the instructions to put "pricescope" in the subject line HERE in preloved, and not in your craigslist listing!

I think that all sounds like a nice plan. I have some goodies I plan to list soon. Maybe. I am trying to pry them from my grasping paws.

If you really want to keep people from responding to a craigslist ad (although the non photos will do it), advertise it as "Frozen Spit, $20,000". I mean, all you really need is the link that will take people from preloved, to craigslist where they can click the link and send an email. I don't even think they'd need a link to respond...you just need one to list. That would be nice especially on days like this where a newbie can't even register. The guy who bought my stone had to register on DB JUST to get to me. What a pain.

hahah! I love it! You could do the same on ebay I suppose. But someone there might actually buy frozen spit.

True. But on craigslist, you can sell frozen spit without having to pay them a cent.

DB looks like it's back up :)

Ugh...what is going on here?? LOL.

I saw some new stones listed...minous, OMG. If only I could afford some of those Spinels...that one you listed thats platinum/teal shift....anyways....

Minous how were you able to list those stones? Unless the site is down again. For me it is doing the same thing...I type the title, type the description, hit next..where it usually goes to the photo upload section...and then....the description field goes blank and says 'required field" and then I am done...cannot get my listing up there. It is driving me mad!! I hate to deal with Ebay...I much prefer the environment of DB...

Just didn't know if I was doing something wrong...or, if it was up and is now back to not working....I did send a message to DB tech and see if they can tell me what is going on. I haven't been able to list anything new in almost 2 weeks...

same here- I haven't been able to sign on for about a month!

I have bought a number of 2nd hand handbags on Bonanza and from a buyer's point of view anyway, it worked very well. I haven't tried selling anything, however. I like that it allows you to search sold items and see the prices.

While I haven't tried to re-list, DB did get back to me. They said that if I was using IE9 (which I was!) that I may have trouble posting...so, I will have to try to list on my other PC. If you guys are having trouble, check and see what version of IE you are using, and if its IE9, I'd try to post on a different PC. Good luck!

Chrisa222,

Just install a different browser on your PC. You don't need to try a different computer.

I don't know what type of computer you are using, but Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari are all options. There are probably several more. It's a good idea to have more than one browser installed. Some web sites work nicely with one browser, others don't. First thing to try if a web site seems to be misbehaving is switch to a different browser.
