Hi

I''m having trouble wighing up the 4 choices below, please could someone help weighing up the differences, all 3 are E, VS1, Excelent cut grade, polish and symmetry (GIA certs). Prices are in GBP and are very similar, just trying to get best value.

Option 1 - 3,591
Measurements 6.21 x 6.26 x 3.83
Weight 0.91ct
Clarity charachteristics christal, needle, pinpoint finish
Table 55%
Depth 61.5%
Girdle meduim faceted
Pavillion angle 40.6 degrees
Crown Angle 35.5 degrees
Flourescence None
Cutlet None

Option 2 - 3,860
Measurements 6.10 x 6.13 x 3.73
Weight 0.84ct
Clarity charachteristics cloud, needle, christal finish
Table 55%
Depth 61.0%
Girdle thin - meduim faceted
Pavillion angle 40.6 degrees
Crown Angle 34.5 degrees
Flourescence None
Cutlet None

Option 3 - 3,860
Measurements 6.04 x 6.08 x 3.73
Weight 0.84ct
Clarity charachteristics christal ,cloud finish
Table 55%
Depth 61.9%
Girdle thin - meduim faceted
Pavillion angle 40.6 degrees
Crown Angle 35.5 degrees
Flourescence None
Cutlet None

Option 4 - 3,896
Measurements 6.20 x 6.22 x 3.90
Weight 0.91ct
Clarity charachteristics christal, pinpoint finish
Table 56%
Depth 62.8%
Girdle meduim - slightly thick faceted
Pavillion angle 41.0 degrees
Crown Angle 35 degrees
Flourescence Meduim blue
Cutlet None

I am guessing 2 above 3, and am not sure how much the flourescence will affect the diamond. The attractiveness and sparkle is really important, and there is not a major difference in size between the other 3. Any tips or advice would be great.

Thanks

Seems with a simple check of the HCA (upper right under tools...see cut advisor), all except the last are nice, but with the price & size advantage of the first, that seems like a probable winner?

If this is all the info you had avaialble to you then I like option 2 angles the best.....

Just an FYI, in regards to your clarity descriptors, "finish" is actually on the next line of the certificate. So instead of "pinpoint finish" it is just "pinpoint" There was actually a thread about this the other day :) Finish can be Ideal or excellent etc....

Why?

In my very limited experience observing diamonds, crown angles below 35 (34.5 to 35 high) and with the 40.6 (low) pavillion angles are very strong performers. It is personal preference of course but I like the way the light breaks/reflects under 35 with this combo.... 35.5 is kinda steep IMVHO and will lose some nice sparkle when compared to the 34.5.

Agreed with Ira, I will go with stone 1.

The first three look like nice stones, can you get Idealscope images for them?

Thanks for the postings. I am unsure on whether it is worth paying and extra 11% (prices have changed already) for a smaller diamond. I know option 1 has a 1.01 L/W compared to 1.00, and will not look much bigger due to extra depth. The main question I have is will a crown angle of 35.5 degrees have much affect on the sparkle. It gets 1.2 on the HCA compared to 0.7 although both are considered excelent.

Option 1 - 3,518
Measurements 6.21 x 6.26 x 3.83
Weight 0.91ct
Clarity charachteristics christal, needle, pinpoint finish
Table 55%
Depth 61.5%

Pavillion angle 40.6 degrees
Crown Angle 35.5 degrees
Flourescence None
Cutlet None

Option 2 - 3,971
Measurements 6.10 x 6.13 x 3.73
Weight 0.84ct
Clarity charachteristics cloud, needle, christal finish
Table 55%
Depth 61.0%
Girdle thin - meduim faceted
Pavillion angle 40.6 degrees
Crown Angle 34.5 degrees
Flourescence None
Cutlet None

Thanks for all help with this.

What kind of diamond are you looking for what color, grade etc.... If you have a budget people can give you suggestions. Both are nice diamonds. I am assuming that the second one falls into the class 1a type diamonds so it is priced higher. What is your budget and grade expetations?

1, that''s my pick!

there''s nothing wrong with a CA of 35.5

why pay more money for the smaller stone??

Hi

I was ideally looking to spend up to £5k on the ring and diamond. I have been recomended a jeweller for the ring, should come in around £800 for a good platinum leaving £4,200 after vat for the diamond. I am loking for a diamond with good colour, and exceptional sparkle, and have seen the 2 after looking around. The size difference appears negligable, but i was wondering the expected difference in sparkle from the details provided. the second one appears to be a better example although more expensive. Would both show very high levels of sparle, and could anyone recomend other better diamonds at that price of similar size for a similar price?

Kind thanks

I''m not sure also if the fact that the more expensive one is bacause it''s from Blue Nile, and the other is from a lesser known co? Would that make ,much of a difference?

If your eyes like 2 better than 1, thta is what is important.

Both should be very nice. It is possible that stone 1 will display more fire (colors) than stone 2.
