DF and I are planning to semi-elope, I guess you would call it! We are taking our immediate family and about 7 friends (as in total, not 7 couples) and fly to Far North Queensland and get married in a tropical beachy resort.

We have our hearts set on one particular place (Angsana Chapel, Palm Cove) but then I started to stress that he hadn''t seen any other venues up there and what if we aren''t doing the right thing etc etc, so we thought it would be a good idea for us to fly up there in a few months and make some appointments to see other venues.

Well, perfect timing! There was a big sale on flights the past few days and we got flights up there for about half the normal price so we had booked into view a few venues and a photographer! Yay!!! This is just so exciting!! My parents live up there too so we can crash with them and spend some time in the sunshine catching up with them. I am flying up a few days earlier that DF so Mum and I can look at flowers, a cake and the all important 1st wedding gown shopping day. Mum is just so thrilled that I am having my first dress shopping day with her, I think she would have been devastated if I went dress shopping without her - it''s just a Mum thing I guess.

Anway, no point to anyof this post I guess, just sharing!

If anyone is from QLD Australia and are interested, we are going to check out Angsana Resort, Sea Temple Resort Palm Cove and the Reef House Palm Cove for starters. If anyone else has some Palm Cove/Cairns suggestions that would be great!! Thanks for listening (well reading I guess).

Do you have a date in mind?

Well, we have been together 12 years, so I''ve had a few opportunities to daydream and figure out what we want to do

We only have a window of about 3 months where we are getting married, between cyclone season and then the hot muggy summer. We were orginally thinking Aug-Sep 09, but my florist told me that I can''t get real frangipanis until October, so it''s got to be October 09! I simply cannot get married without frangis in my bouquet - they are my favorite flowers, we are getting married in the tropics and my Mum had them in her wedding and through her hair, so they are very special to me. DF thinks I am mad picking a wedding date around a flower, but he''s all cool.

It''s pretty exciting, in like 14 months we will be married

That''s so exciting, Honey! I hope you love the venues you get to check out, and have a lovely mini-vacation! Be sure to tell us all about it once you have seen them.

Have fun! It''s so much fun to pick the venue...as soon as you do, you can actually start visualizing how things will look. Tell us all about it when you come back!

I am supposed to wait until after I see the venues to start visualising?! I have been having non-stop wedding visualisation running through my head for days now! Can''t seem to get anything else done (well, except for staring at my new ering)

So excited

hahhahah no! You may visualize as soon as you want to/can! For me, I needed to have a place, a setting, to let it begin.

Enjoy. It''s nice to see you excited about it!
