Trendy medium grey spinel

I like to browse Etsy for interesting jewelry and sometimes I get sucked in to the trends. I heard about grey spinel and saw photographs with lots of scintillation. So I found one that looked interesting on Etsy and here it is. I think someone may have been using it for cutting practice because it is almost like an OMC or antique cushion. It was inexpensive and the seller set it in silver. I was impressed at the quality of the setting for the overall price of the ring.

Yes, I bought the spinel, and the seller set it based on a photo I gave them. They did a good job. Incidentally the black rose cut diamond in the photos is another Etsy trend-influenced purchase.

I would say it’s a light grey, more than a medium, but whatever it is, very pretty! Enjoy!
