Wife and I have been traveling a bit this week. Currently in Madison, WI but should be leaving around 3pm today for Chicago.

Will be staying at a hotel on the Navy Pier. And just curious if any of you may have any must-do’s while there. Time is limited. Just a few nights. Very interested in Little Italy — we love Italian food and mob stuff in general. Hoping to partake in some great deep dish pizza and prime steak too. The small town we live in is like going to the Sizzler, lol — needless to say I grill/smoke most our steaks.

I also love architecture, and we are always down for any water adventures. I love heights too but wife not as much, lol. I’m an adrenaline junkie with high risk tolerance. She’s more risk adverse.

I know there are a bunch of tourists traps but hoping to gain a little more in our short trip.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that while blasting through IA I saw a CBI sign off the side of the highway. I don’t think it was diamond related but I thought of you @Wink. Hope all is good with you. :cool2:

You should check out the Chicago architecture boat tour. I'm not an architecture person per se, but even I thought it was really great. Even more shocking, the two early teens we brought along were interested. I did the tour almost a decade ago, so perhaps it changed, but it is worth exploring.

Thank you! I will check into it. :cool2:

You would love the architectural boat tour Sledge.

Giordano’s deep dish pizza.

There are many great steakhouses in Chicago.

Great shopping on Michigan Avenue and Oak St.

For views and a cocktail at night try London House rooftop. Cindy’s Rooftop in the Chicago Athletic Association building on Mich Ave has great views of Millennium Park and the lake, but hard to get a booking. You can just wander in, get a drink at the bar and just go out on the balcony— worth a try. Views from here better in the daytime.

Made it and got checked in. Views are amazing. Plan on that boat tour tomorrow, drinks on the rooftop @ London House and steaks @ Gibson’s.

Thinking we may have Giordano’s delivered to the room and enjoy the views tonight.
