so what''s your latest favorite travel planning website? I''ve been using one here in China but I haven''t made plans outside of travel within europe last year and travel within china this year for a while...

... are expedia and travelocity both still good choices? Is there a better choice I haven''t heard of?

For booking travel or for travel reviews?

For booking, I tend to start with Expedia and then move around to Travelocity or Orbtiz. I just read a Consumer Reports article that I believe said Hotels dot com has the highest prices. I wish I''d held onto that magazine. I''d have much more info for you!

For travel advice/reviews I always go to TripAdvisor. I love that you can view traveler photos and videos. The forums there are great too if you have a specific question about where you''re traveling.

oh yeah sorry - I should have specified lol

I need to buy some tickets for my brother to come out here and visit us in China... so I guess I'll start with expedia :)

I was hoping there was some new and better thing out since I'd moved from the states haha

why does expedia consider children 1-18 and adults 19+? This is messing with me! It won't let me get a ticket for him alone... he's 18!!

I use sidestep.com or kayak.com (same company) -- they are aggregators of flight fares and hotel rates from other sites, so they are quite convenient.

For reviews, I use tripadvisor.com.

I ended up stumbling on a site (now I don't recall) that searched several sites at once and pulled about 8 windows up at once... I ended up spending some time on tripadvisor.com and I love it! I love that you can really control moving the date one day this way or that and get lots of prices... plus it checks several engines as well and I ended up with a really great deal.

It was really ticking me off that expedia.com kept wanting to add a 2nd ticket because my brother was 18 and not 19. I still don't get why a child is 1-18 and an adult is 19+ on that site.

For booking, I just stick with Orbitz. I''ve looked at other sites to compare fare prices, but I find that I get lost in them. I hate getting lost in the internet.

I spend so much time researching and not making decisions, and it drives me crazy. Plus, I never find great deals elsewhere. Orbitz works for me.

For reviews, I like Fodor''s and Trip Advisor.
