Trade up or wait?

Hi all! Need some insight and advice if it’s a good time for me to use my trade up policy? I know diamond prices are less now than when I bought mine so my trade offer will be lower but being that the cost of earth mined diamonds are lower is this a good call? I’m eager to trade up to a larger carat weight and there are 2 options that interest me in stock that could be suitable trade ups. I’m going to post the appraisal report for mine and then the 2 AGS stones I’m interested in as trade up’s. Worth inquiring? Thank you!

My 2 cents...the H doesnt really give you that much more size. Not worth it to me*. The I colored stone gives you a nice size
upgrade, but you drop in color. Can you get up-close videos of the 3.01? How do you feel about the "I" colored?

The I looks like it may be more of a 60-60 stone, but I need to see the whole report. Your current stone may be 60-60ish also.

What about your setting (Victor Canera...nice!). Can Victor put a new head on it so it will fit a bigger stone?

Just some things to think about. You will get mixed opinions on this subject, but all opinions may give you things to consider
that you haven't thought of.

I’m hoping to achieve a larger stone as I’ve always wanted a great quality 3 carat but it was out of my price range for so long. If I’m able to take advantage of such low natural diamond prices I’ll
inquire. Of course a little worried about going down to I from H but I currently have a 60/60 and the large table does not bother me as long as it’s not only white sparkle and I can get some fire and scintillation in there too. Here’s the diamond:

What is plan with the existing halo setting ?

Was the setting done by VC and you provided him with the orig GOG diamond ?
Or did you buy the completed ring with diamond from GOG and you are trading in the entire ring as is for credit towards the 3ct stone for which you will then put in a new setting ?

have you discussed the trade in credit amount you will get with GOG ?

Here is a super ideal cut diamond with same color/clarity from Whiteflash. In terms of light performance and cut quality, the difference is huge. In comparing price, the GOG Diamond is only marginally less expensive. Based on this, I would not pay the GOG price.

Here are the replies to your questions:
Yes just looking to upgrade the center stone through the buyback policy I have from GOG. It’s only good on in house diamonds and no I have not discussed yet what my trade offer will be. I had the setting made by VC after I bought the diamond from GOG. I wouldn’t be opposed to selling the VC setting with it if that pads my budget more but I don’t think GOG would want the setting. If I ended up upgrading would love to see if VC can accommodate the ring to fit the larger stone.

I understand but maybe you can talk to them to see what else they can access. In my opinion, their diamond is priced high in comparison to the one I showed you. Maybe they would budge on the price or find a better cut diamond for the same price. See what they would be willing to do!

ok so step 1 you need to determine what $ budget you are working with....

so you need to know how much $$ GOG will provide in trade up credit for the current diamond towards a new diamond

also try to find out from VC what your options are for new diamond size wise to re-use the existing setting....

I think for this to feel like an appreciable difference you will need to go over 3ct. Get all the math worked out then decide how tinted and included you are willing to go. Me, I’d look for a great si2 in a JK color and maximize size but obviously YMMV.
