I feel like I've been a posting machine lately, sorry if yall are sick of me!

I was trying to put together the CD that will be played for the ceremony. (It's not a church wedding, and it's a 20min ceremony, so we are opting to just use a CD!)

I must have come up with at least ten different songs that I want to walk down the aisle to. First it was the Butterfly Waltz, then Canon in D, then I wanted the Wedding March. Now... now I'm faced with something that is really really intriguing....

While looking for music to play while the guests arrive, I came across this (preview track 3):

I've always been 'Princess Jasmine' in my group of friends, and with my FI. My puppy is named Jasmine. I am obsessed with Jasmine. I was thinking classic for the wedding, hence Canon in D and Wedding March.... but this is so ME! Not to mention it will catch everyone off guard, because they know as far as weddings go, I'm more the traditional sort. I love it, but part of me says it's absolutely ludicrous. Opinions?

Ah, this is the alternative (preview track 14):

Aladdin!!! I love untraditional wedding music done in gorgeous instrumentals and I think it's perfect that it fits you perfectly.

(I've been a posting machine lately too - I'm happy when others join me!!!)

Well, I walked down the aisle to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDBpQVhCMb8 so I may be slightly biased towards unique wedding march songs but I 100% believe you should go with something that is uniquely "you." Everyone at our wedding loved the fact that I walked down to this song because they know that DH and I are both nerds and DH is a computer game animator so it was perfect for us!

Hi Mashira,

A whole new world could be a fun song to walk down the aisle to, or you could use it at the end when you return down the aisle with your new husband as man and wife. Either way I like a slightly more instrumental version (Track 19) because it's more formal.

At first I though it was a bit of a cheesey idea, but after reading about your personal connection to Jasmine, I think it could be very touching and make your guests cry in an "aww our little girl is all grown up" kind of a way. Weddings are definately a coming-of-age event, to it makes sence to have a peice of music that reference your childhood.

HopeDream, that is exactly what I was thinking! I was going to either use wedding mach back down the aisle, or a whole new world, depending on what most of yall thought. I definitely like track 19 MUCH better! Thank you for that, I wouldn't even have noticed it!

Thank you ladies for all your input! I'm still undecided, but I'm definitely leaning towards A Whole New World.

Great song, Bobbin, id never heard it before =)

I love the idea! Plus, I dig that movie SO much!

Have what means something to you.

"Cheesy" is in the eye of the beholder and I guarantee you if a guest already doesn't 'like' you, they'll find SOMETHING they'll say is cheesy or too much or not enough or...You get the idea. Satisfy yourself here. Nothing is more charming at a wedding than real love and affection and sharing it with your guests as opposed to the Bridezilla "Everyone Look at Me on My Special Day" disease.

Stoniegrl, brilliantly said!
