I am a newbie......let''s get a thread going to let people post their top 10 internet sites to buy engagements rings........thanks for the help.

Hey Heel Yes! Welcome to PS!

Have you seen the FAQ section that has a lot of these questions answered?

Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure I know that many.

These would be sites selling what? diamonds? ready-mede rings? settings? both?

It is not uncommon that people aseemble the rings from a couple of sources: diamond online and most likely all combinations you can imagine are feasible

I think BlueNile.com is a great place to start. It's professionally done. It has good prices (better than B&M), but better prices can be found. It was listed as Forbes best pick this last year, so it lends a bit of credibility and has lots of information and pictures that let you see what your ring would look like.

GoodOldGold.com in my opinion comes up next, but the navigation is a bit challenging. Their web site would benefit from a consultation from an information architect. (Jonathan, I would be more than happy to help you.) This is the most information I've ever seen anywhere.

I've heard nothing but great things from WhiteFlash.com from people who've purchased from them. And Todd and Robin from NiceIce.com really are super nice! I wish they carried more specific modified square stones.

You should probably keep a running list in the main topic entry!

verticalhorizon, get in line behind me, i've already offered Jonathan a site redo. with a few basic changes he'd have a great site.

Okay, first... It's Robin & Todd

she owns the company and me... That's what I'm told and I'm not arguing with her, last time I did that she tossed a blow dryer at me while I was sitting in a Jacuzzi tub full of water and the blow dryer was running

Second, we don't find very many modified square brilliant cut diamonds that impress us... We're more prone to Asscher cuts and we suppose that we tend to lean towards our personal likes and dislikes when we buy diamonds for inventory - which is kind of good for our clients because we won't buy *anything* that we don't like... That said, we're not all that fond of princess cut diamonds, most of them are cut really poorly, but we do know where to find a nice one from time to time, so feel free to ask if you want us to look for one for you, about 60% of the diamonds that we sell are sourced with specific clients in mind and never get listed on our on-line inventory.
