I'm a newbee but have been browsing for an e-ring for 6 months now. I've landed on a customized 14k white gold C. Gonshor cushion halo setting for $3,000 at a local jeweler but have found similar designer settings online for less. It will be about .75 ct on the setting, does that sound about right?

How much was your setting? Can you show me what you got for your money? I'm wondering if I should start over to find a better price.

Im having mine custom made so it isnt finished yet but Im basing it off of this setting

white flash quoted me about 2400, the place im getting it from quoted me about (before my work discount :naughty: )

Ive done a lot if searching for the type of setting i would want and as higher end settings go I dont think its exorbitant but could you get a setting for less? probably.

Doing a quick price search though pearlmans came up with a lot of settings under 3000 though. maybe take a look there and see if those settings are up to the design quality of the one you're looking at?

Thanks for your help! I think I'm going to do what you suggested - take a look and compare the design quality of others. If I find something cheaper it will most definitely have a more plain setting and I'm not sue that I'm willing to compromise on the setting. The design of the one I picked out has diamonds everywhere, on the mounting, band, halo, etc so I might have to suck it up for the extra bling :D

If its the perfect setting and you have the funds in your budget for it go for it. what is 3k if it get worn forever? :))

post pics when its finished!!

Take a look at gabrielengaged.com for similar rings - trusted PS vendors carry them and the quality is very nice.
