I found this diamond on JamesAllen.

Does this price seem like a good deal for this diamond? It has an HCA grade of 1.4 (Just learned about HCA today, but that seems pretty good).

Does it look eye-clean? It seems to be pretty close to me... also does anyone know if there is a noticeable difference in size between a 1.29 carat stone and a 1.21 carat stone (I had to drop the size a bit due to budgetary concerns)?

Last question... how often does JamesAllen replenish their stock?

THanks so much!

1.4 is a good HCA score, but all that determines is that the diamond is worth further consideration.

When you put a stone on hold we can't see the price anymore, so you'll have to tell us what the list price is for opinions there.

GIA XXX is a good sign (Excellent cut, Excellent Symmetry, Excellent Polish).

As for eye cleanliness, I personally think you can find a better compromise on Inclusions than that stone. They're all right under the table, which isn't my favorite thing in the world (might not bother you). Especially since you're going with an SI1 inclusions are a compromise, but there are plenty of stones with twining wisps or slight clouds outside of the table that would make me feel better than the spots in the center of this one.

As for the size, a 1.21 and 1.29 shouldn't face up very differently size-wise, assuming they're both cut with similar dimensions. A deeper stone in either carat weight will show smaller than the other, but a shallower stone won't perform as well. As long as both have ideal proportions, that .08 shouldn't make a bit of difference (maybe a 10th of a millimeter)

The price seems to be in line. ( you can see the price of the stone when you click on 'similar stones') You can have JA provide three idealscope images for up to three stones. I would pick a couple more that your interested in and ask they be evaluated side by side. I would also ask if the clouds are affecting the brilliance of the stone in anyway, and explain what your definition of eye clean, is from 6 inches face up? 12? from the side? The definition is often different even between vendors so it's important to explain yours.

As far as size difference, just compare the dimensions of this stone to the other that you were looking at. .1mm is the equivalent of a sheet of copy paper so a stone measuring 6.5 and another at 6.7 would have a circumference difference of two sheets of copy paper. :))
