Hi- need some feedback on a 1.51 H-VS1, VG cut, symmetry, polish that I am purchasing via Angara . Going to take a look and return if not satisfied. It is a 1-1:05 ratio. $7500. Too good to be true.?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for your thoughts.

maybe...need much more info. see if you can get a sarin which has crown/pavillion angles. also aset images are helpful to see light/dark spots. there''s much more to it than just those figures. i''d ask about hte coloring too, just cause its graded H it could be closer to G or closer to I in which case might be yellowish or white!

also, the diameter (how big it appears) is important b/c it might face up small or large depending upon depth and other factors.

Thanks for th quick reply
Depth 67%
Table 69%
Measurements: 6.45 x6.29x4.31

It''s hard to say much about it so far. Can you post the depth %, table, dimension mm, and any other information you have about the stone? Do you have any pictures or images?

The table is slightly larger than I''d like, but no huge red flags or anything. Radiants in general are priced lower than other cuts and unfortunately usually aren''t cut well... It will all depend on how it looks when you actually see it!! It''s hard to tell radiants by numbers alone, so you might want to ask the vendor for images.

They sent a picture with copy of GIA on youtube..but it reminds me of those Home Shopping Network rotating ring videos:-) Of course it sparkles like crazy and by the way, how DO they get them to set on the edge while turning?

post the link. I would like to see it.

ditto, I think it would be helpful despite the jewelry store lighting.

Thanks for posting this, it was fun to watch. Angara should consider getting rid of the cheesy music though...LOL.

I thought that the radiant overall looked nice, but that the table was slightly large and somewhat glassy. The table issue, is mostly a preference issue and some like this type of look. I noticed some leakage towards the middle 1/3 on the sides, but not any more than most radiants. Overall, I think it is a pretty diamond that is a great value in size for the money.

Can you ask Angara for an ideal scope image?

that was interesting.

I thought most of the fire flashes were coming from the crown facets, which is normal, but I didn''t really see a lot of activity under the table.

Thanks for the feedback..I asked them for the Ideal Scope Image...is the ''bowtie'' effect visible here...
I looked at a radiant with a 75% table and thought it was an ice skating rink..I kept looking for those low to mid 60''s Depth/Table percentages but have only seen them in the ''Original Radiants''.

I didn''t see any bow-tie, but...I think office lighting/white hemisphere are betting for looking at that.

I don''t really think bow-ties are a usual problem in radiants, anyway. It''s usually a random, "crushed ice" look.

ditto, I don''t see a bowtie either, but I did notice some leakage in the area under the table.

''leakage'' refers to a poorer cut, right? the light is going out instead of up. I suppose this will be noticable when i see it tomorrow. by the way, what creates the rainbow of color flashes in a diamond? when it moves you see blue, pink and so on. it is beautiful.

Angara responded just now re: Ideal Scope. They sent an information sheet about what it is with diagrams and all. They will provide but we must pay for it. They will provide it within 7 days. I am impressed with their helpfulness and willingness to answer all questions ...so far, so good.
they also sent another video with it in possible settings

They are asking you to pay for an Idealscope image? I''m no expert but WF & GOG have Idealscope, ASET images etc. posted on their sites and don''t ask their customers to pay for them! Is it me or does that seem ludicrous for a stone you may not even BUY!?!?!?!

I don''t get a video when I go to your link unfortunately. An ideal scope image would really help look at leakage. Yes, leakage is where the light passes through rather than getting reflected back. An ideal scope image can really help examine the amount and placement of leakage in a stone. I''m not a big fan of paying for these images... Will they refund the cost of the image if you purchase the stone? That might be a fair compromise. How much are they asking you to pay for it? I also think you should get it in the next couple of days rather than 7...

I think leakage is how radiants have contrast. There is not much black/blue under IS/ASET when looking at a radiant.

Idealscope might be ok, but ASET is really best for these shapes. It does look pretty in the video.

Thanks for the suggestion. We are at the top of our budget at $7600. I do notice that this stone has much lower Depth and Table percentages.

The dimensions are listed on the GIA so I feel I can trust that..

The stone arrived, sparkly but flat , visble table at different angles...going to keep un search for 1.25 1.30 with much lower table numbers -65 or less. Not finding them but will keep looking
Thanks for all the help.
