OK,

Is it just me, but I really had to take a step back in my diamond looking quest, I was becomming sooooo caught up in the tiniest details of the numbers, inclusion plots, type of plots, that some of the enjoyment almost went out of the process, by my determination to get it right. I had to just step back and say that between the top vendors on PS, their top stones, at the end of the day, unless something truly unlucky slipps by at GOG, WF, BGD, etc, they will be great.

The stuff I looked at in upmarked B&M stores look great (mostly) and come with no-where near the level of info or cut precision, yet here I am aaonising about every detail, second guessing myself, the stones etc

Well, I have decdided I need to chill, with a great return policy and purchasing from one of the top vendors here, one cant go wrong.

Maybey it is the analytical researcher in me that has drawn me to PS, but sometimes, I just need to step back and enjoy the beauty of the diamond and the reason why we are getting it

Does this make sense to anyone else, or is it just me, that has gotten so caught up in the numbers that sometimes it is hard to see the forest for all the trees iywim.

anyway, trying to chill a bit

D2B,

Word. I get that. Sometimes it''s almost as though ignorance is bliss. I am so grateful I discovered PS, but at some point, you just have to let go and let universe...so to speak.

At the end of the day, it''s the reason behind the stone. I feel like we are in good hands with these vendors. Good Luck! You''re going to do GREAT!

I was the same way when searching for my upgrade stone. It is maddening!

totally agree. it''s so easy to be caught up in all the tiny details. between HCA scores, types of inclusions, aset/is images, etc. are those h&as really crisp or just very good? i think at the end of the day, just make sure its not a lemon, that you are getting it for a good value for what it is, and trust that you can only optimized it so far. Let''s say you optimized it 90% of the way, there''s no sense driving yourself crazy over that last 10% because quite frankly, you and your fiance will never see it.

i agree with that tagline, its easier to be eye clean than mind clean.

Some of you will be very difficult for nice women to live with!

Clearly it''s NOT just you!

I buy millions of dollars worth of diamonds a year and never use the tools promoted here.
I''m sure that some buyers get tremendous value from them- but not everyone wants to get into these minute details.
I use my eyes.

Lol. Not me. I don''t obsess over minute details, either. I can make a deal. I''m a woman, and I like my diamonds slightly imperfect and the clarity tolerably low, hehe. I just bought an upgrade SI2 from a PS vendor, and never even asked whether it is eyeclean. I could not be happier.

If the tiny details are important to you then pursue them.

But always know that you did your very best by joining the PS community and getting an excellent
diamond education.

Don''t second guess, don''t stress, and always see the beauty in your diamond and the sparkle in her eyes.

Dont get me wrong I love the research, the infromation I am learning, just sometimes, I need to take a step back from finding the PERFECT SI1 G colour etc etc. and just remember in the end I will love my ring. I loved my pre PS pretty sparkly but ordinary in terms of PS standards stone, so I am sure I will love the new upgarde all the more. In fact, my pre PS crappy cut sparkly stone has made an amazing pendant, cant believe how well it performs in a bezel, so who knows, how it all works, thats the joy of diamonds

But I love the site, and the information and the knowledge that is shared.
