Today's THE DAY -- in 9 hours I'll be RETIRED!

CONGRATULATIONS DEE JAY!!!! So happy for you. I follow along on the healthy living thread so kinda knew you were trying to retire… (I’m nosy!) What a fabulous new chapter to look forward to.

When I was young I used to play piano at retirement parties. This Friday, when I get home from cocktails with my friend, I will play a few songs in honor of your retirement/work accomplishments. Cheers!

Thank you ALL so much! I really appreciate the kindness and good wishes of my PS family. So many people in real life have tsk tsk'd at me, telling me I'm "too young" to retire. But I SWEAR -- some days I feel plenty OLD!

Monnie, that's so sweet! XO!

Dreamer, my boss has mentioned several times this week that every time he drove past the parking lot all weekend he saw my car there!

Austina, every time I add to my "too do" list I' realize I'm going to need more hours in the day!

Oboe, first I'm going to get the house in order. Ack. That will take a while as I've got stuff everywhere thanks to having just sold my condo downtown and needing to ingest a bunch of things into this already full house. And then I'm going to work on the giant backlog of inventory for my vintage glass store. And then... who knows?! I imagine the cleaning and inventory will take me through summer, and then I might go to one of the small accounting firms in town and see if they need any tax help (I'm a CPA)). Or not! But whatever it is, it starts NOW with my first glass of retirement champagne.

I don't think I will retire early, but we are really hoping we can find a way for my husband to do so. Hence why I won't retire early Its such joy to have that option available! My grandfather was in the military and was able to retire on a full pension at 55. He and my grandmother had the best years of their life after that, travelling and spending time with me and my cousins. I wish everyone had that.

Poo on those people 'tsk tsking' you. Life is not all about work, and there are ways to make meaningful contributions that aren't typical "work" either! Your plans for the next 6 mo sounds amazing.
