To Taper or not to Taper

I prefer a taper, but with that band, I think no taper would be best.
 
I really like the channel set band you posted. And with that, I would not do a taper. Hope this helps!

No taper for sure! Otherwise there will be a gap between the engagement ring and wedder.

Have you seen the diamond in person yet? Have you had an independent jeweller or valuer check it out? The specs say that the girdle is thin to medium. Medium girdles are awesome, thin girdles can cause issues in setting and are more likely to chip. Not trying to worry you, it may be absolutely fine. As a jeweller, I would much prefer working with a thick girdle over a thin girdle.
 
I have not seen the diamond in person but I'll ask BGD if it's closer to medium. Hopefully they feel confident in it even if it's thin. That would be covered under my personal ring insurance not BGD guarantee, correct?
