To ship or not to ship

So I have my diamond and my setting is on order but I have a small dilemma. I can either ship my stone to Texas and have it set by the jeweler that is selling me the setting for $35 plus $45 dollars shipping. Or I can have it done at a jeweler near my work for $65. I am a little worried about the added risk of sending my diamond through the mail for the second time and it is more money, but if I have it done here I won''t know if he can do it until he sees both pieces in person. Then I may have trouble finding someone who can do it. Both guaruntee workmanship, but the jeweler here was recommended by my appraiser.

What would you do?
